Tristan Thompson's scandals as Khloe Kardashian's ex caught in drugs violation

Tristan Thompson has been embroiled in some wild antics, and Khloe Kardashian's baby daddy has hit the headlines once again - for all the wrong reasons.

It was announced on Wednesday that the 32-year-old Cleveland Cavaliers player has been suspended by the NBA for a whopping 25 games for violating the league’s strict anti-drug program. Tristan tested positive for banned substances ibutamoren and SARM LGD-4033, which are used as performance enhancers, and help users improve their strength and speed up recovery.

Tristan has yet to comment on the suspension, which is effective immediately, and it’s not known how long he had been taking the performance enhancing drugs. He joined the Cavaliers in September in a high-profile move, and had seemingly got his life back on track after a series of controversies involving his personal life.

Tristan first hit the headlines in 2016 when he began dating Khloe, and he reportedly left his pregnant ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig to hook up with the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star. Both denied there was any overlap in the relationships, but Tristan’s womanising problems didn’t end there.

While Khloe was pregnant with their first child, the basketball player was caught kissing a woman at a bar in New York City, and he was accused of cheating on the pregnant TV star with numerous women. She stood by him, and later gave birth to their daughter, True Thompson, and Khloe decided to stand by her man and work on their relationship.

But just 10 months later, Tristan was in the headlines yet again, and this time, his womanising hit a little too close to home for Khloe. The basketball player kissed Kylie Jenner’s best friend Jordyn Woods at a party, which subsequently ended Khloe and Tristan’s relationship, The scandal was filmed by Keeping Up with the Kardashian cameras, and in one emotional episode, Khloe is restrained as she hysterically screams and calls Jordyn a “liar” as the young model discussed her tryst with Tristan on an episode of Red Table Talk.

Khloe and Tristan later reconciled during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, with rumours surrounding the couple that the sports star had popped the question, but less than a year later, they had called it quits. They continued to co-parent daughter True, and in episodes of KUWTK, the friendly exes had even discussed the possibility of giving True a sibling.

But their friendly relationship was tested as it was revealed Tristan had fathered another child during his reunion with Khloe in 2021. Personal trainer Maralee Nichols sued the basketball player after she claimed he was the father her son, and in court documents, Tristan confessed to having sex with Maralee several times. It was later proved he was the father of her son Theo, and he issued a grovelling apology to Khloe on social media. “You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you,” he wrote in a post on Instagram.

It later emerged that Khloe and Tristan were expecting a second child via surrogate, and the baby was conceived in November 2021, just one month before Maralee gave birth to her and Tristan’s baby boy Theo. Khloe ruled out ever getting back together with her cheating ex, but hinted at a possible reconciliation with her baby daddy after they welcomed son Tatum in August 2022.

Tristan was back in the headlines yet again last year, but this time, it was good news. He had been traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, which meant he would be living with Khloe and their kids, True and Tatum, as well as his younger brother Amari. Tristan became the sole caregiver of the 17-year-old after their mother died unexpectedly in January 2023.
