Amazon driver 'let himself in' while mum was in bath
A mum claims that an Amazon delivery driver "let himself in" to her home while she was taking a bath leaving her feeling "violated".
Meghan Phillips, 34, was at her home in Falkirk at 5pm on Monday when she says the man entered her property to drop off a parcel after getting no answer at the door. Meghan only became aware of his intrusion when the package was later spotted sitting in her hallway. Meghan, who lives with partner Liam, 37, and is mum to three-year-old Rainee, also said the experience has left her "creeped out".
She told how she thought it was her partner when she heard a noise and that the door to the bathroom was open because they are potty training their child. "I was in the bath and I heard a soft tapping noise on the door and assumed it was my partner, Liam. But the parcel was left in the hallway. The Amazon driver obviously never got an answer from tapping the front door so he opened it and walked in," she said.
"My partner does 12-14 hour shifts so when he isn't around he is gone for a long period of time and this has made me feel unsafe. My daughter is only three years old and the bathroom door was open when I was in the bath because we are potty training - so he came into the house while I was in a vulnerable position. We live in a close-knit community where we know everyone so I don't lock my door through the day, but now this has really creeped me out and made me feel violated."
Meghan has since reported the incident to Amazon, saying:. "I complained to Amazon but they sent a very generic response. I work in customer service and don't think that is good enough," she told the Daily Record. "They said they would investigate, but it doesn't feel like they are taking it seriously which is disheartening where someone's safety is concerned."
