Roman Kemp's Capital FM Breakfast show has received over 100 complaints to Ofcom.

The programme, fronted by the presenter alongside Chris Stark and Sian Welby, often sees a string of high-profile celebrities interviewed early in the morning. But while the trio are known for their fun and high levels of energy, one segment has come under fire.

It's been confirmed that the broadcast angered some listeners and viewers on January 15, 2024, who decided to complain to broadcasting watchdog, Ofcom. In the latest instalment of complaints received, Ofcom revealed that 107 complaints had been filed by listeners.

However, the number of complaints received does not indicate how serious the issue may be. The rules implemented by Ofcom not only cover harm and offence but also things including accuracy, sponsorship, impartiality, commercial references as well as fairness and privacy.

If an incident is deemed serious enough, they can fine the broadcaster. A spokesperson for Ofcom stated: "Complaints related comments made by the presenters about a product which combined chocolate with crisps, specifically that the suggestion that the businesses website was a con was potentially damaging to the business."

Los Angeles-born Roman joined Capital FM in November 2013, presenting on Sundays between 6am and 9am. He later went on to present between 5pm and 8pm on a Saturday, as well as between 9pm and 12am on a Sunday. Two years later, he bagged the Capital Evening Show, alongside his Sunday programme.

But in 2017, he joined the Capital Breakfast Show presenting alongside the likes of Vick Hope, Sonny Jay, Sian Welby and Chris Stark. Earlier this week, the broadcaster was left speechless by one call from a listener who revealed they'd accidentally given away all of their tenant's possessions.

Roman took a call from Matt in Northamptonshire, who opened up about a flat he had rented out in Kettering, and asked: "What happened?" Matt explained: "So we used to own a flat in Kettering and we went round there because the old tenants were leaving and they'd left a real mess in the flat. They'd left loads of clothes, loads of bedding, loads of furniture and everything. The new tenants were moving in that afternoon so I had to go and get a van and get rid of everything.

"Had to take the furniture to the charity shop, the clothes into the clothes bank and everything like that. Managed to get it all done and ready in time and then met the new tenants. When I met the new tenants they looked a little bit shocked because the place was empty. It worked out that the people over the road had given them the key earlier and it was actually all of their stuff that I had got rid of."

Sian screamed: "No!" Matt continued: "So then I had to go to all the charity shops to go and buy the clothes back and try and get my hand in the clothes bank as well to try and get their goods to get everything back to them." A stunned Roman asked: "You threw away their clothes and their furniture?" Matt replied: "Everything they owned." Sian quipped: "I am speechless," as Matt added: "So were they, so were they!"
