Fortnite Solid Snake: quests, cosmetics, and how to unlock the Snake skin
The secret skin for the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 Battle Pass has finally arrived, with Solid Snake coming out of hiding this week. But to unlock him you'll need to complete some quests first.
Fortnite is no stranger to crossovers with other video games. Capcom has thrown in characters from Street Fighter and Resident Evil, while PlayStation icons like Kratos and Aloy have shown up, and most recently Alan Wake made his way out of the Dark Place to hop onto the Battle Bus. Now it's time for Konami to join the fray as its most iconic (and best) series Metal Gear Solid makes a splash into the game this week, with the Fortnite Solid Snake skin arriving as the Chapter 5 Season 1 Battle Pass' secret skin alongside Fortnite update v28.10.
Like any secret skin in a Fortnite battle pass, you can't unlock them by levelling up like the rest of them, you'll need to work for them by completing specific in-game missions . We've rounded up each mission, as well as what they unlock, so you can get the legendary soldier for yourself.
Fortnite Solid Snake quests – how to unlock the secret skin
The Fortnite Solid Snake quests are split into two pages. Completing four of the page 1 quests will unlock the Solid Snake Skin and the page 2 quests. Once you complete the page 2 quests you'll be given the Old Snake Style for the Solid Snake Skin. Furthermore, each quest completed will unlock another Solid Snake cosmetic item for your Locker
Fortnite Solid Snake page 1 quests
- Hide in a Cardboard Box for 10 seconds – unlocks the Lying in Wait Loading Screen
- Deal 250 damage to opponents while within 10 meters of them – unlocks the Stun Knife Pickaxe
- Deal 50 damage to opponents with explosives – unlocks the Solid Profile Spray
- Deal 500 damage to opponents with assault rifles – unlocks the ! Emote
- Break 2 security cameras or turrets – unlocks the ! Banner Icon
- Complete 4 page 1 quests – unlocks Solid Snake Skin and page 2 quests
Fortnite Solid Snake page 2 quests
- Deal 2500 damage to opponents with a weapon that has a suppressor – unlocks the Tactical Advantage Loading Screen
- Use EMP Stealth Camo 3 times – unlocks the Metal Gear MK. 2 Back Bling
- Use a hiding spot in 5 different matches – unlocks the Hidden? Emoticon
- Assist in opening 3 Vaults or hack 3 Train Heist Chests – unlocks the Slider Glider
- Damage 10 different enemy players before they damage you – unlocks the Snake Skin Wrap
- Complete all page 2 quests – unlocks Old Snake Style for the Solid Snake Skin
For those of you who are more partial to Metal Gear Solid 2, the good news is that Snake isn't joining Fortnite alone. Fortnite leaker @ShiinaBR revealed in a post on Twitter that a Raiden Fortnite Skin is also joining the game in his Metal Gear Solid 2 attire (sorry Metal Gear Rising fans). He's not in the game yet, but he's likely to appear in the item shop very soon.
