Millie Gibson has gushed over her co-star Ncuti Gatwa ahead of her upcoming Doctor Who exit.
The actor, 19, made her debut as companion Ruby Sunday on the long-running BBC show's Christmas Day episode last year. She's set to appear in eight episodes in the coming months but has reportedly been dropped from the show.
Following the Mirror's exclusive confirming her upcoming departure, Millie has been enjoying a holiday abroad, which she has posted about on her Instagram account. She's also reacted to a post by her colleague Ncuti, 31, on the platform.

Ncuti - who follows in the footsteps of actors like David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker in the role of the Doctor - posted a series of photos of himself posing in a gym just days ago. He was seemingly modelling an outfit from Savage x Fenty in the photos, having tagged Rihanna's brand.
Two photos showed Ncuti taking a selfie in a mirror whilst wearing a pair of gym shorts and a top, whilst a third photo showed the actor shirtless. He wrote in the accompanying caption: "First thirst trap of 2024 curtesy of @savagexfenty."

The post prompted reaction from Millie - who is best known for having played Kelly Neelan on Coronation Street from 2019 until her departure in 2022 - in the comments section. She responded just a couple of days ago: "I'm breathless."
It comes following the reports that Millie has been dropped from Doctor Who. She will reportedly only be back "to tie up loose ends," with Varada Sethu expected to be the new companion in Ncuti's second series, due to air next year.

A source previously told the Mirror: "[Millie] has all but left now and there's a brand new companion, which is really exciting." They added that showrunner Russell T. Davies is "keeping things moving" and "isn't letting the grass grow".
Ncuti's first series is set to consist of eight episodes, which are due to air from May. Millie reportedly won't return for the Christmas special later this year and it's rumoured that she'll make only "a handful" of appearances in his second series next year, including in a standalone story "wrapping up" her character Ruby's journey with the Doctor.
Following the reports, Ncuti - whose credits include shows like Sex Education and films like Barbie (2023) - took to social media to pay tribute to Millie. He shared a photo of them together and wrote "my lil" alongside a heart emoji.
