Peter Andre has teamed up with musician Fabio D'Andrea for a new project - which shows him in floods of tears.

The 50-year-old dad-of-four is set to become a father for the fifth time this year as he and second wife Emily MacDonagh are due to welcome their third child together. But in an emotional new music video, Peter is seen playing a father who is left devastated when his son attempts to take his own life - with Peter putting his acting chops to work and leaving his singing skills behind.

The Mysterious Girl singer features in a video for 44-year-old Fabio D'Andrea’s new release, titled Another Way. And in the emotional video, Peter involved in emotional scenes as a family struggles to help a school boy in need.

Footage shows Peter clutching a framed photograph while tears stream down his face and struggling to help his on-screen son after he has cut himself. The video is part of Fabio’s new project which consists of 24 original piano pieces that are accompanied by 24 unique mini-films.

Speaking to The Sun about his role in the music video, Peter said: “After watching Fabio's powerful work, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. Such an incredibly tough subject needs to be highlighted in a way that will hopefully help bring it to the forefront.

"For me, playing Jack was incredible, tapping into many emotions. As people may know, I've been very open about my own mental struggles in the past, which certainly made it all the more powerful for me.

"Millions of people worldwide are going through mental health struggles, and many find it incredibly difficult to reach out and talk about it. I'm hopeful that this video will help those in need by showing them how important it is not to bottle things up and encouraging them to talk and get the support they need.”

Peter has shared the video via his Instagram page and has been praised by followers for confronting a difficult topic. Former The Only Way Is Essex star Danielle Armstrong was among those responding to the footage.

She wrote: “I’ve watched this a few times, this is is so sad / beautiful/ powerful in so many ways of emotion. Incredible what you guys have created and should be shown every where especially in schools.”

And another fan wrote: “This stopped me in my tracks, I've witnessed some of this first hand and it's devastating. Let's use social media for the best purpose and spread this far and wide. Mental health awareness has to be a priority in our schools and homes.”

The subject of the video ties into a recent declaration from Peter’s 34-year-old wife Emily who admitted she has banned their children from accessing social media due to her concerns about cyber bullies. She told OK! magazine last week: "It’s a difficult one because Theo and Millie are young enough that I’ve not had to deal with it yet. But I’m concerned it might get to the stage where bullying might occur if you don’t have one [a phone], even though there’s the worry of cyberbullying. I’m stuck between wanting to protect them but not excluding them."
