Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx is said to be 'doing so well' after he returned to film work to star in a new movie alongside Cameron Diaz.

The Hollywood icon was spotted alongside his co-star back on the set of their upcoming movie Back In Action. The actual cause of Jamie's illness has not been revealed but his daughter Corinne confirmed back in April that he had fallen ill while working on Back in Action. In May, Jamie briefly spoke on his Instagram page to thank his fans for "all the love" admitting he felt "blessed" to still be here.

However, the actor is now back to work and appears to be the picture of health as he returned to acting. A source has also revealed he "looks and feels fantastic".

A source speaking to PEOPLE revealed: "Jamie is indeed back on set and shooting through February. He looks and feels fantastic. They tried to finish the movie with a stunt double but it didn’t come out right so Jamie is going to do all of the parts now."

Another source told the publication: "For Jamie, the show must go on and he has always been eager to see this project completed. Jamie is super talented and loves his work. He will finish this film."

In April last year, Jamie's daughter Corinne issued a statement revealing her father had fallen ill whilst shooting the film. The statement read: "We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday [Apr. 11]. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers." The statement added: "The family asks for privacy during this time."

The Django Unchained star was recently seen choking back tears as he spoke publicly about his traumatic illness for the first time. Giving a 12 minute speech as he took to the stage at the Critics Choice Association Awards Jamie admitted that he was left unable to walk after falling ill as he battled the tears. He said: “You know, it’s crazy, I couldn’t do that six months ago - I couldn’t actually walk. I’m not a clone, I’m not a clone. I know a lot of people who were saying I was cloned out there. I want to thank everybody. I’ve been through something, I’ve been through some things."

He continued: “I cherish every single minute now - it’s different. I wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy because it’s tough when it’s almost over... when you see the tunnel. I saw the tunnel - I didn’t see the light.

“I have a new respect for life. I have a new respect for my art. I watched so many movies and listened to so many songs trying to have the time go by. Don’t give up on your art, man, don’t give up."
