Roman Kemp was stunned into silence on his radio show after a viewer made a shocking admission.

The Capital FM host took calls from his listeners during Monday's show. However, one message left Roman and his co-stars Chris Stark and Sian Welby speechless as they admitted to making a major blunder. Roman took a call from Matt in Northamptonshire, who opened up about a flat he had rented out in Kettering.

Roman asked: "What happened?" Matt explained: "So we used to own a flat in Kettering and we went round there because the old tenants were leaving and they'd left a real mess in the flat. They'd left loads of clothes, loads of bedding, loads of furniture and everything. The new tenants were moving in that afternoon so I had to go and get a van and get rid of everything.

"Had to take the furniture to the charity shop, the clothes into the clothes bank and everything like that. Managed to get it all done and ready in time and then met the new tenants. When I met the new tenants they looked a little bit shocked because the place was empty. It worked out that the people over the road had given them the key earlier and it was actually all of their stuff that I had got rid of."

Sian screamed: "No!" Matt continued: "So then I had to go to all the charity shops to go and buy the clothes back and try and get my hand in the clothes bank as well to try and get their goods to get everything back to them." A stunned Roman asked: "You threw away their clothes and their furniture?" Matt replied: "Everything they owned."

Sian quipped: "I am speechless," as Matt added: "So were they, so were they!" Listeners reacted to the story on Instagram as one said: "That’s actually not his fault, he was trying to do right for these people. This neighbour shouldn’t have given the keys without notifying him." Another added: "Mental!" Someone else commented: "I have a question. Why did the people over the road give them the key?"

Earlier this month Roman hinted about starting a family in the future. Speaking fondly of his Spandau Ballet dad, Martin Kemp, the 30-year-old playfully referred to him as 'grandad' while discussing his hopes for his children to see them both on TV one day. Roman and Martin often team up in showbiz - and they have even co-hosted a program called 'Martin and Roman's Weekend Best' together as well as appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox.

He told Hello Magazine: "My dad and I get to work with each other all the time, and I'm so lucky for that. The reason we work together is that I know how much I'm going to love my kids and my family watching that footage of me and their grandad working together - and that's just our relationship."
