Slimming World has come up with the ultimate sweet treat recipe that is low-calorie and can be cooked in an air fryer.

Many of us are trying to get in shape or lose a few pounds post-Christmas, but finding healthy or low-calorie recipes that also tickle our taste buds isn't always easy. Slimming World has created ultimate easy-to-make breakfast ideas that help you stay on track without needing to restrict yourself.

The weight loss organisation has designed the "most flexible eating plan ever" which means you don't have to calorie count but you can cut down. The plan helps you personalise meals to suit your dietary requirements, tastes, and budget. It includes hundreds of everyday foods you can eat without a shred of guilt.

To start your day, Slimming World has produced a berry pop. The easy recipe takes just 10 minutes to cook in an air fryer and makes the ultimate sweet and fruity breakfast.

You will need two teaspoons of reduced sugar jam - strawberry or raspberry, two small slices of bread from a 400g wholemeal loaf, one medium egg, fat-free natural yoghurt, 40g of fresh raspberries, and half a teaspoon of icing sugar.

Method

  1. Spread one teaspoon of jam over each slice of bread
  2. Top one slice of bread with the raspberries and lightly squash them using a fork
  3. Beat your egg and brush it on the edges of the bread, top with the other slice of bread, jam-side down, like a sandwich
  4. Flatten the sandwich with your hand and brush the top and sides with egg
  5. Gently press the edges together with a fork to seal
  6. Brush the top with a little more egg and dust with half of the icing sugar
  7. Preheat your air fryer to 200C
  8. Put the sandwich in the air fryer and cook for four to five minutes
  9. Remove the sandwich, put it onto a plate and slice into two triangles
  10. Sprinkle the remaining icing sugar on top and serve the yogurt and extra raspberries

But warning - the contents will be scorching hot, so let it cool a little before you get stuck in.
