Prince Harry is probably attending yoga and pilates classes as his legs look more defined than usual, a fitness expert has said.

The Duke of Sussex, 39, was seen out and about as he went for a walk near his home in Montecito, California. Wearing a pair of shorts, along with a beanie and puffer jacket, the royal's physique looks more toned than it was when he played rugby and polo.

According to personal trainer Lewis Paris, it is likely that regular trips to the gym have kept Harry looking toned and lean. The expert believes his exercise routine could be made up of running or jogging once or twice a week, followed by two or three strength sessions - one focused on HIIT and the other focused on the total body.

Mr Paris told the Daily Mail: "Shaping the legs takes more effort than just losing the weight, doing some form of strength training will help to form the legs (body) you desire." However, it is also likely that Harry practices yoga and pilates, he said.

He added: "Pilates can help with core strength, posture development and mobility. So Prince Harry is probably engaging in a weekly training routine of doing it three to five times per week to build muscle, maintain weight and keep fit.

"With Harry's military background, he will be benefiting from sticking to a routine and maintaining discipline and focus to get into shape and then to maintain his physique." Harry's mother-in-law Doria Ragland has been a yoga teacher in Los Angeles for years and in 2017 she said: "Yoga is my thing."

At the beginning of 2022, Harry said he needed to meditate every single day as part of his "bumpy" self-care journey. He said the routine was key to his "mental fitness" in a discussion with tennis ace Serena Williams and mental health start-up founder Alexi Robichaux.

The royal, who was sporting a short haircut in the video call, told the pair he sneaks in some exercise when his son Archie is at school and daughter Lilbet is having a nap. He also encouraged people to step "outside their bubble" during the chat, which was hosted by Mr Robichaux's organisation BetterUp.

Discussing his mental health routine, Harry said: "I know that I need to meditate every single day. Once you have to show up for other people, the self-care is the first thing to drop away."

Harry also discussed how stepping 'outside your bubble' can help solve problems after Serena revealed he had helped her. Serena said: "I know I joke a lot but Harry is one of my coaches, whenever I see him he's always solving all of my problems."

Harry replied: "I will push back on that and say you're the one figuring it out. It's just having the ability to find someone else to throw ideas, feelings or thoughts off.

"To find someone outside your bubble who has a different perspective. You might not always like what they say. To have different points of view in your life, and friends who do not worry about pushing back on what you feel, to encourage you to see it more clearly."
