Trump didn't want to witness son Barron being born, uncovered interview shows
A past interview has revealed that former US President Donald Trump was a "hands-off" dad and didn't want to be present when his youngest son Barron was born. The interview resurfaced recently, shedding light on Trump's parenting style.
In 2006, while seven months pregnant, Melania Trump spoke about her pregnancy and the upcoming birth of their child. She shared how she broke the news of her pregnancy to Trump in August the previous year, leaving him surprised but pleased.
However, Trump, who was 59 at the time, recalled things differently. He claimed he wasn't "totally surprised", just a bit taken aback by how quickly it happened.
The couple told People.com 18 years ago that they enjoyed going to the cinema together but were quite independent. While Melania was busy preparing for the new baby, her husband kept himself occupied with other matters. She expressed confidence that Donald would be a good father.

As for the new baby, neither of them knew the gender and were keeping it a secret until the big day. Melania hired a full-time nanny to help with Barron as she had plans to get back into her modelling career.
The pair had already agreed that Donald would not be in the delivery room when the baby arrived. He said: "I think it's easier for Melania if I'm not there."

Elsewhere, while donning his signature frown, Donald Trump sat with his arms crossed answering questions for seven hours behind closed doors. This happened just before the commencement of the civil suit brought forward by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
"Do you know the banks were fully paid?" Trump began. "Do you know the banks made a lot of money? Do you know I don't believe I ever even got a default notice? And even during Covid, the banks were all paid. And yet you're suing on behalf of banks I guess?" he added incredulously.

"You said the numbers were very 'wrong,' in the sense that I defrauded banks by using them but then the banks were fully paid, and had no complaints and to this day have no complaints," Trump fires back, his face suddenly shifting from calm to cross.
"You sued me. What you did was a terrible thing," he asserts with a stern face, completely irate and grave after being defiant just moments ago.
