Love Island's Arabella Chi brands ex Ruben Dias a 'mistake' after shock split

Love Island star Arabella Chi branded her ex-boyfriend Ruben Dias a 'mistake' after he suddenly broke up with her over the New Year's holidays.

The TV personality was heartbroken when the Manchester City star split up with her only weeks before she landed in South Africa for the All-Stars series. The reality star had been dating the Portuguese footballer since September and were last spotted together on New Year's Eve before going their separate ways.

The couple had kept their romance a secret and had been spending as much time together during their relationship. It was later reported that Ruben had 'dumped' Arabella soon after the couple landed back in the UK from their romantic holiday in Paris where he 'wined and dined her at all the best restaurants.'

Arabella, who said she had an 'unlucky' year when it came to finding love, discussed her failed relationships in a new interview.

Speaking to The Sun On Sunday, she said: "Last year was probably my unluckiest when it came to finding the one. I’ve been so unlucky in love. I’ve dated people I thought at the time were the one, which was a mistake I’ve since learnt from."

Arabella continued: “What I’ve learnt from dating last year is that you think you know someone but you don’t really know them at all." She added that she had romances with people who weren't 'best suited' to her. Arabella and Ruben kept their short-lived romance under wraps and tried to spend as much time as possible with each other.

In November, a source told The Sun: "Rúben and ­Arabella have been quietly dating for the past month. She has visited him in Manchester and their dates have been all under the radar. They went to Paris for their first romantic mini-break in the week, where he wined and dined her at all the best restaurants.'

"Rúben and Arabella are trying to keep their relationship under wraps because it’s early days. But they had the best time together in Paris and seem to be really falling for each other." It was later revealed that the footballer broke up with her after they returned from the mini-break.

The star is now single and recently admitted she hopes to find the man of her dreams. At the end of Friday's episode, Arabella shared: "I've been fortunate enough to be able to hang out in Hollywood circles but I still have not found love. I might have recently of come out of a relationship but I'm ready to meet the man of my dreams so get me back in that villa!"
