Middlesbrough have rejected multiple offers from Aston Villa for winger Morgan Rogers, according to reports in the Midlands. The 21-year-old has only been on Teesside for just six months, having signed a permanent deal with Michael Carrick's side at the start of this season.

It is understood that the club are in a positive position in terms of negotiations given the length of this current four-year contract but reports claim that Boro could face a challenge to keep him, with Rogers said to be excited over a potential move to Villa Park. The club are said to be interested in negotiating an improved deal but any club interested would have to meet their high valuation.

EFL72 says:"Rogers is one of the division's top young prospects and Boro will not be keen to lose him given he has only just signed a permanent deal with the club. However, as mentioned, this could come down to how much a Premier League club like Villa are willing to pay and if an attractive offer comes in, it could become a different story."

Leeds working on Rodon deal

Leeds are working on securing a permanent deal for on-loan defender Joe Rodon, as per reports from Football Insider. The Welshman joined Daniel Farke's side on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club Tottenham in the summer and has been an almost ever-present in the Whites' starting eleven.

It is understood that Leeds' preference is to get a deal done as soon as possible, however this may not be possible in the January window due to the expected cost of the transfer. It is believed that the potential fee could rise to somewhere between £15m and £20m for the 26-year-old, depending on his performances between now and the end of the season.

EFL72 says:"Rodon has been a key part of Leeds' success so far this season and Farke will no doubt be interested in securing a permanent deal as soon as possible. However, a transfer fee in that sort of range will definitely hinder any chances this month and spark an anxious wait for a signature come the summer."

Maresca addresses Sensi transfer claim

Leicester's pursuit of Inter Milan midfielder Stefano Sensi has been the talk of the Championship so far this month, with the club having previously agreed a deal, according to reports in Italy. However, Foxes boss Enzo Maresca has since denied those claims, stating that the club are in the same position as they were at the start of the window in terms of finalising the move.

Maresca insisted that the club are not currently in a position to do business right now, and would require movement in terms of player sales to start thinking about potential incomings. “In this moment we are not allowed to do anything,” he told reporters at his press conference on Thursday. “So there’s no agreement with any player."

EFL72 says:"Sensi's potential move to the Midlands has been one of the sagas of the window so far and it appears it won't be concluding any time soon. The Foxes are clearly keen to add the Italian to their squad but are stuck in another situation at the moment, so this one could go down to the wire."

Blackburn make striker enquiry

Blackburn are interested in a move for Birmingham striker Lukas Jutkiewicz. TeamTALK report that Rovers are in the market for a striker this month and the 34-year-old is among the names on the club's shortlist.

Jutkiewicz is out of contract at St Andrews in the summer and has yet to make any decision on extending his current stay in the Midlands, but no deal is said to have been made between the two clubs regarding a transfer this month.

Southampton dismiss Walker-Peters' links

Southampton boss Russell Martin has quashed speculation regarding the potential exit of full-back Kyle Walker-Peters. The 26-year-old had been linked with a move to Chelsea, reuniting with former boss Mauricio Pochettino.

However, with the Saints star still under contract until next summer, Martin has issued a stern warning to potential suitors, stating that "it would take a lot of money to prise him away.”

Stockport close to Man Utd defender

League Two leaders Stockport County are said to be in advanced talks over a move for Man Utd defender Rhys Bennett. Football Insider claim that a number of EFL sides are interested in his signature but the nearby Greater Manchester club are set to seal a loan deal until the end of the season.
