The man found dead in a house this morning along with his family has been named.

In the early hours of this morning, police were called to a house in Costessey, near Norwich, where officers had to force their way into the home. Tragically, inside they discovered four bodies, belonging to a man, aged 45, a woman, aged 36, and two young girls. All four had suffered injuries.

The man has since been named locally as Bartlomiej Kuczynski. Believed to be an engineer who worked in property trade, police said Bartlomiej - who was reportedly married - and the two girls lived together at the property but the woman was a visitor.

The family were understood to have been active members of the community. Images on his Facebook page show the dad with two young girls and his partner. It isn't yet clear who the woman, the fourth body found in the home, was.

A police cordon is in place as detectives from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team desperately try to figure out what happened. Detective Chief Inspector Chris Burgess, from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team, is leading the investigation.

He said: “We can confirm all four were found with injuries and post-mortem examinations will be held in due course to establish cause of death. Officers are expected to remain at the scene for some time. We are still working to understand the full circumstances which led to the deaths of these people, however at this time we believe this to be an isolated incident.

“I recognise the shock and upset this incident will cause in the local community and we will have increased patrols in the area across the weekend. I would urge anyone with any concerns to speak to these officers.

“I’m aware there’s a lot of public interest in this investigation and speculation as to who is involved on social media, including the names of those who have died. The man and two children lived at the address, but the woman involved was visiting and didn’t live at the property. Next of kin have been informed and we are supporting them.

“We’re also aware of commentary on social media about a knife discovered in a wooded area near to the address, however, at this time we’re satisfied it’s not connected to this incident.”

A 32-year-old man who lives on an adjoining road said: "When I was dog walking this morning I saw the cordon at about 8am. This is a very quiet neighbourhood and I've never seen anything like this before here. This is something like you see on the TV I suppose, so it seems all quite surreal."

Neighbours say a man from the house was reported missing just before Christmas and a drone circled the area at the time and also flew over the nearby woods. The man was later found walking along the Fairway near Allan Bedford Crescent.

Gary Blundell, a local Lib Dem councillor who lives on the estate, said: "It's shocking - it just proves these sorts of things can happen anywhere. My heart goes out to anybody involved in this. I live on the estate with my wife. It hasn’t been verified who it is yet, so they haven’t released names, but if it is the family involved that I think it possibly could be, then yes we did know them.

“I don’t know if the house had been sold since the family I knew were there, but it was a family home. I don’t know if it was rented. Obviously, they approached me for help on certain things, when the house was being built. They did ask questions. I spoke to them. It’s just a regular normal family home. If they needed help, then it was available. To be honest, it’s a totally shocking experience. I don’t know how this has happened.

“We don’t know the full extent of what happened. We are only going on what we have been told, but from what I understand, this is an isolated incident, with no risk to the public. I don’t wasn’t to speculate, the family who lived there did [have kids]. I wouldn’t want to speculate if any children were involved – at the moment it’s just four bodies."
