Justin Timberlake has reportedly made a request for music rights amid hints at a new album.

The Cry Me A River singer appears to be working on new music, with fans already going wild as he teased content on his freshly wiped Instagram account. In legal documents obtained by TMZ, trademark applications were filed for the phrases Everything I Thought It Was and Everything I Thought It Was... A Sonic film.

The application was reportedly filed by an entity called TBTHC LLC and was signed by C. Brandon Browning a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Browning was previously involved with Justin, having reportedly filed for the trademarks for his 2018 album Man of the Woods.

Justin has also been teasing something with the initials EITIW, which seems to represent Everything I Thought It Was. He shared a series of snaps including an upside-down missing person flyer with the words "Have you seen this man?" followed by his name and an orange hard drive with the EITIW initials. He also used the same initials in his caption.

Fans took to the comments to share their thoughts about the upload, with one writing: "This man is READY!" and another put: "What’s the riddle of it all? What’s the riddle on his mind? It’s impossible to find. No, really, tell us. I can’t take the suspense!"

It comes just days after he announced he'd be performing in Memphis for one night only. Justin was caught up in scandal after Britney Spears released her tell-all memoir A Woman In Me, revealing dark details about their relationship in the early 2000s, including a secret abortion she had after falling pregnant with Justin's child.

PR expert Matt Yanofsky exclusively told us that Justin could have "an ace up his sleeve" in terms of making a comeback amid the drama. He told us: "Returning to acting won't fix his issues, and he should pause his Hollywood comeback and pivot to NSYNC.

"A real NSYNC reunion, complete with a tour, would be so big, it would overshadow anything Britney has said. He's resisted a reunion tour for decades, but a reunion tour is his best card he can play to turn the tide away from this fiasco," he added, but it seems Justin is focused on going solo with his return to music.
