ITV Love Island's Jake Cornish emotional as he tells islanders he's leaving
Love Island All Stars contestant Jake Cornish has explained why he quit the show after just three days in the villa.
It was claimed on Tuesday that Jake, 26, had reportedly decided to walk away from the villa, despite being there for just three days. On Monday, viewers discovered the results of the public vote which saw him coupling up with his ex-girlfriend Liberty Poole and on Tuesday, the duo insisted that there is no "bad blood" between them as they have both "moved on".
However, on Wednesday's show, Jake made the emotional decision to leave the villa. Jake summoned his fellow Islanders to the fire pit, where he said: "Everyone can we go to the fire pit for a minute. I was here to find love and there is no one here I have that connection with. I don't want to waste time, I don't want to give my energy to someone and it's just forced, fake. I just want to let you all know I am going tonight."

"I have no regrets whatsoever as I’m so glad I got to enjoy my time in the Villa reuniting with some familiar faces as well finally getting an opportunity to clear the air with Liberty. I wish her and all of the other Islanders the very best and will be cheering them all on from home."

On Wednesday's episode, after announcing his departure, Jake pulled ex Liberty for a chat, who was left in tears over his surprise exit. Liberty said: "When I think about him leaving, I actually get really sad and I didn't even expect to get sad." Jake told Liberty: "Don't get upset, what you getting upset for?", adding: "I can't just fake things for the sake of, best thing for me to do is take myself out the situation, I've had a wicked time! I hope you find someone in here. Remember, be yourself!"

He said: "Nah, me and Lib, we're wicked. We were sweet from the beginning, it was nice to see her to be honest with you, just to clear up things from before. Closure is key, we left, we're friends now." Teasing what is next, Jake said he is taking time for himself as he's not a dater and is not going to be chasing love.
It was reported on Tuesday that Jake had quit Love Island All Stars. Sources claimed that Jake was shocked that none of the girls stepped forward to couple up with him and he decided that it wasn't the right time for him to find love. Speaking to The Sun, a source said: "Jake was really shocked to see Liberty in the villa - they had no idea the other person would be there.
"It was clear from the start they wouldn't get back together, then none of the girls wanted to step forward for him. Jake had a nice three days in the villa and had a very emotional chat to Maya Jama." They added that Jake knew he "couldn't stay" before deciding to quit.
Liberty and Jake coupled up during the 2021 series of Love Island. However, in a shocking twist, Liberty decided to end her romance with Jake just days before the series seven final, saying at the time: "I just don't feel like you love me for me and I want someone who loves me for me."
