Everyone will be wishing the Princess of Wales a speedy recovery after her abdominal surgery.

The nation’s thoughts will also be with King Charles as he prepares to enter hospital for treatment for an enlarged prostate. A loved one falling ill is an anxious time for any family. Members of the Royal Family are no exception and the absence of the King and Kate from public life will be keenly felt.

Since the death of the Queen and the departure of Prince Harry and Meghan, the monarchy relies more than ever on the King, Queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales.
