A woman has ordered her friends to pay for her cancelled wedding after they destroyed her relationship with her betrothed on her special day. Posting to Reddit, the shocked member of the 'bridezilla's' wedding party said that her college friend Dana had been a nightmare prior to the big day by having so many rules and demands.

But she said the worst part was on the actual day of the ceremony, where she started off by having a "meltdown" because one of the flower girls had to cancel due to having chickenpox. Dana, 29, she said, then threatened to sue the child's mother unless she brought this sick three-year-old to the wedding. The unlucky groom-to-be, Josh, was able to calm her down, however, so further preparations began.

The bride then asked for a bit of time alone so she could gather herself for the nuptials. The woman told fellow posters: "The whole day she had constant outbursts. She made people cry. Like, wedding staff and bridesmaids. The miad-of-honour deserves a medal for the amount of diplomacy and b******* control she had to do.

"I for the most part took the easy route and decided to work outside the bridal suit like checking flowers, making sure food was okay. Eventually, I had my make-up and hair done, then the bride asked for a little bit of time alone to 'decompress' from the stress."

She said that most people who were around her stressed friend thought that was a great idea and as there was 30 minutes until the ceremony began, it would be good for everyone to have that little break. But just five minutes before the start, the miad-of-honour, who was the older sister of Josh, 32, approached her and told her that the wedding was cancelled.

She asked what had happened to cause such a huge move and was told: "Dana was having a 'quickie' with Josh's uncle in the room. Josh caught them. I just stared at the miad-of-honour with my mouth pretty much about to reach the floor. She told me to run and that she was trying to get as many people out before things exploded."

She said that she then made a quick getaway but that evening, called the maid-of-honour to check what the fallout was like and was told that Josh called off the wedding, shouted at his now former bride-to-be and his uncle, then left with his mates. She said: "I feel so bad for him. He's an absolute gem of a man. He apparently also told Dana and her parents that she will be paying the cancellation fees. According to the miad-of-honour, Dana's father told her in front of everyone that she was paying it on her own."

She thought it was the end of the affair, but got a call from the now-dumped bride demanding £4,000 ($5K) to help pay for the cancellation as she thought it was the responsibility of the members of the bridal party to do so. The now fuming friend said she point-blank refused and told her to lose her number. She said: "I am never speaking to this woman again. This has been pretty much the reaction of all bridesmaids and the miad-of-honour ."

Other users of the site agreed with her wholeheartedly, with one saying: "That was a close call for Josh. He was about 30 minutes away from making the biggest mistake of his life," and another said: "Honestly, discovering her cheating was a blessing in disguise because it was perhaps the only thing that would've got him to walk away at that point. And he definitely needed to walk away."

And another said: "It's a good thing he got out of the wedding but how didn't he realise he was making a huge mistake before then – not being able to invite women that aren't family is a huge red flag. Plus all the other toxic behaviour that was described leading up to the wedding should have been a sign that the bride was a bad person and the marriage wasn't going to last."
