Martine McCutcheon is experiencing her own personal summer despite freezing temperatures hitting Britain.

The Love Actually star, 47, is embracing a "new era" of her life as she goes through the menopause, with the actress sharing a snap of her latest hot flush with fans online on Tuesday night. Martine, who has previously opened up about being crippled by anxiety thanks to perimenopause, took to Instagram to admit that despite the frosty weather, she was burning up and experiencing a hot flush.

Posing topless for a snap, the former EastEnders actress told her 609,000 followers: "I know it’s freezing out…. But I’ve had to come upstairs to open all my windows and take off some clothes as I’m feeling so hot and flushed baby!!"

Martine continued: "The boys think I’m mad… Let’s say I’m 'glowing' a lot, as I’m literally burning up! Phew!!! Let’s put it down to that certain time in life shall we?! At least my face hasn’t gone like a beetroot this time around, it’s happening less often and the 'glow' tonight, has given my face a nice, healthy, youthful shine.

Martine concluded her post: "So I’m sharing looking nice and taking the positives!" before adding the hashtags: "#itsbonkers #butitsnatural #allwoman #burningup #ohjoy #itsthattime #timeoflife #rollingwithit #passmetheice #getyourglowon #quickpicwhilstitlasts #strikeapose."

The mum-of-one's fans flooded her comment section with compliments, with one telling Martine: "Literally one of the most beautiful women ever in every era of your life!" "Aw bless you. You’re gorgeous either way! I think a lot of us are in the same predicament too! Enjoy the rest of the evening beautiful soul," another gushed to Martine on Tuesday night.

In March last year, Martine opened up about experiencing menopause symptoms and admitted that her anxiety could be "debilitating" some days. "Perimenopause symptoms... Such fun. I have the hot flushes, the insomnia, the brain fog and fatigue. The list goes on doesn't it," she wrote on Instagram

"And to be honest, having lived with M.E/CFS and fibro since my 20s, those symptoms seem to be something I can cope with... touch wood." She continued: "However, what I've personally not heard mentioned as much, is the crippling anxiety you can get with the perimenopause. A kind of irrational anxiety that makes no sense whatsoever." She added: "You feel like you've lost your own damn mind. Maybe it's just me, but I don't seem to hear about this side of it as much."

By sharing her experience, Martine hoped to offer comfort to other women going through the same thing. The former soap star added: "I wanted to share this, just in case any of you out there feel the same and feel scared or worried - you aren't alone. I'm pleased to report after going through a phase of not even feeling confident enough to drive (That's SO not me!) that I'm now feeling much better and I'm working my way back to my own normality."
