Horrible POV vid going viral shows man shoot partner's son for mouthing off
Horrifying footage going viral online shows a man shoot his partner's son in a heated row - and police have revealed the horror that ensued.
In the footage - which is made especially shocking as it is filmed from the victim's point-of-view - deranged Jeffrey Scott West, 68, shockingly blasts Kyle W Spitze, 24, appearing in his doorway with a handgun after shouting at the younger man who is lying on his bed. He is heard shouting "I’m getting ready to blow his goddamn brains out! Right f***in' now" as he appears in the doorway with a cigarette in his mouth and pointing his gun at Kyle.
Kyle's mum then appears in a flash, as she bolts over to West, with her denim miniskirt around her ankles, and begs her partner to "stop it" while moving him away from the door, and closing it. But the row escalates, and West is shockingly seen blasting Kyle at close range as the younger man moves out into the corridor - to the mum's horror.

The horrifying footage was shared without context online and has caused a stir online as people query what actually happened - and debate gun laws.

Now it has been revealed the incident from where the footage stems took place in August - and Police released an incident report at the time. It transpired that West tragically shot himself dead in an apparent suicide after a two-hour stand-off with cops, that ensued after he shot his partner's son on August 26, last year. Thankfully, the bullet that struck Kyle only hit and wounded his ear.
A police statement read: "DEPUTIES RESPOND TO SHOOTING FRIDAY NIGHT; ONE MAN DECEASED, ANOTHER MAN RECOVERING FROM GUNSHOT WOUND.
"MARYVILLE, TENNESSEE – Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong said one man is deceased by apparent suicide and another man is recovering from a gunshot wound to his right ear following a domestic altercation at a residence on Quarry Hollow Road in Friendsville at approximately 8.15pm Friday.

West was pronounced dead at the scene by personnel with AMR Ambulance Service. An autopsy on West will be conducted at the Knox County Regional Forensic Center in the immediate future.
"The injured man, Kyle W. Spitze, 24, Quarry Hollow Road, Friendsville, was taken by AMR Ambulance Service to University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment to his non-life-threatening injury.
"At approximately 8.15pm Friday, patrol deputies and investigators responded to the call of a shooting at a Quarry Hollow Road residence. When they arrived, they found Spitze and another individual who resides at the residence waiting outside. Deputies administered first-aid to Spitze’s ear injury. Spitze and the other witness told deputies that Jeffrey 'Scott' West and Spitze were arguing inside the residence when West pulled out a gun and shot at Spitze, the bullet grazing Spitze’s right ear. Spitze and the other individual fled outside and called 911. The victim and witness also told deputies that West may have fled out the back door prior to law enforcement’s arrival."

It adds: "Members of the Sheriff’s Crisis Negotiations and SWAT teams, assisted by some members of the Maryville Police Department SWAT team arrived at the scene and began attempting to negotiate with West by speaking to him on a public address system and by using diversionary devices in an effort to get him to surrender. After those efforts failed, deputies deployed a Sheriff’s K-9 into the residence shortly before 11pm and discovered West deceased by an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

"No deputies or officers were injured during the incident. Sheriff Berrong would like to thank Maryville Police Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol Air Aviation Unit, AMR Ambulance Service, and Friendsville Volunteer Fire Department for their assistance during the incident."
Police posted this picture of their teams at the scene at the time (Facebook/Blount County Sheriff's Office)In the footage, brave Kyle is heard replying to West's initial threat by saying: "Blow my brains out? Shoot me, and I guarantee you’ll go to jail for life." He appears to be filming from his point of view and West reappears in shot, asking "you want me to?" as Kyle remains on the bed.
After Kyle's mum shoots the door while arguing with West to stop what he is doing, West is heard shouting from behind the door: "I’m getting ready to blow his brains out, and yours!" It is at this point that Kyle stands up and enters the hallway, shouting: "You gonna blow my mum’s brain out?" and facing West, telling him "point that gun [at me] again." West duly complies as the footage shows him at the other end of the hallway, lifting the gun up to Kyle's direction before it fires towards the camera.
Kyle's mum gasps in shock as the shot rings out before the clip goes silent. The mother is then heard asking her partner if he "f***ing hit him?" Kyle's POV video begins to show drops of blood landing at his feet as he staggers away and his mum cries: "Oh my god, you’re going to jail."
As a panicked Kyle bolts out of the backdoor, West walks away and the footage ends.
Police say the 911 call came shortly after and they found Kyle's mum outside the home, and West went on to barricade himself inside. They surrounded the home and used a PA system to try to negotiate with West, but found him dead inside the home after two and a half hours, when they sent a police dog - a Sheriff's K-9 - into the home. West had shot himself.
Meanwhile Kyle was treated for his ear injury at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
The incident took place in Friendsville, Tennessee, about 20 miles southwest of Knoxville.
