Love Island: All Stars viewers have described Mitchel Taylor as "so cringe" early into his latest stint in the villa, amid him seemingly pursuing a romance with Liberty Poole.

The islander, 27 - who is known as 'Messy Mitch' due to his antics on Love Island last year - was seen entering the villa in South Africa for the spin-off on Monday's episode. He's currently coupled-up with Kaz Kamwi on the ITV2 show.

She however appears to be getting close to Luis Morrison, whilst Mitchel has been getting to know her pal Liberty, 24. The latter is coupled-up with her ex Jake Cornish, who is set to be seen leaving the villa on Wednesday's episode.

Mitchel and Liberty were seen getting closer on Tuesday night's episode, with him teasing at one point that he wants a "connection" like Kaz and Luis appear to have. He said: "I want that connection. Why haven't we got [that]?"

Liberty suggested that they are "taking it slow" though and he agreed. The pair went on to compare their eyes, before he told her: "We're gonna get married us. [...] Same eyes, both fancy each other. Why wouldn't it work? You tell me."

She said they hadn't "broken that physical touch barrier yet" though, which prompted Mitchel to put his hand on her lower thigh. He teased: "We have now. [...] This is going so well. Honestly that's so good. We broke it - we're fine."

Mitchel soon took his hand away, but Liberty suggested that he put it back. She said: "That was nice to be fair. You can put your hand back there." He was then seen with his hand on her leg again. He said: "See this just feels natural. This is amazing. This is just gonna be us for five weeks."

The pair were seen interacting in other parts of the episode too, including later embracing in a kiss during a game in the villa. Fans suggested on X, formerly known as Twitter, that they found Mitchel "cringey" in the episode.

One person tweeted around the time that the scene in which he placed his hand on Liberty's leg aired: "Mitch is so cringe." Another said: "Mitch remains as cringe as last season." A third wrote: Mitch with the hand movements. Get awayyyyy. He's so cringe."

Someone said: "Mitch brings the cringe levels to unbearable heights, I have to mute him when he's talking." Another viewer tweeted: "Love to see that Mitch doesn't cringe me out any less than last time." One person said: "Mitch is so f***ing cringe."
