Love Island All Stars viewers are convinced they know the ‘real reason’ Chris Taylor was the voted the villa’s most popular male.

Host Maya Jama ordered an early twist, telling them girls to go and stand next to the guy who they fancied the most. Within seconds, Chris, 33, proved to be the most popular boy as Georgia Harrison, Hannah Elizabeth and Kaz Kamwi all stood by him. Chris was left stunned, joking: "Girls, what's going on?" before adding: "Sorry boys, I didn't see this coming either! It's not a prank, is it? That's a sick prank if it is, Maya! It's a lovely feeling, Maya, not going to lie!"

Originally fans were thrilled for Chris but after some thinking time, plenty seem to know why it really happened. Last year, the hunk landed a role as a Ken in the blockbuster film Barbie - and some accuse the girls of wanting to be seen with a movie star. They flocked to twitter and says the ladies have been rumbled.

One wrote: "They saw them Barbie coins and thought… future husband material" with another chimed in with: "They love Chris cause he was in Barbie." A third person also picked up on the same thing and tweeted: "Barbie star Chris is already proving to be popular amongst the girls."

On Monday it seemed viewers were delighted to see Chris being the most popular boy. Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: "Chris finally has the girls lined up for him omg #loveisland", a different account put: "i don’t blame the girls for all standing next to Chris #LoveIsland!" another viewer wrote: "Chris getting picked by three girls I know that’s right #loveisland #LoveIslandAllStars" while a different account added: "I am so glad that girls are picking Chris this time, he was my fav on his season #LoveIsland!"

Chris - who is also joining Chris in the villa by Toby Aromolaran, Georgia Steel, Anton Danyluk, Demi Jones, Luis Morrison, Liberty Poole and Mitchel Taylor - soon found out who he would be paired with. Later that night, Maya re-entered the villa and gathered the Islanders by the pool.

The host went on to tell the waiting group: "Girls earlier today I asked you to reveal who you fancy the most but the decision of who you will couple up with is actually in the hands of the public. Are you ready to find out who they have chosen for you? Let’s do this!"

The first couple to be formed were Chris and Demi, who revealed earlier on the show that Chris had previously slid into her DMs. The next couple were Luis and Georgia H, Toby was next to be coupled up with Georgia S with the two having history. Next up, Anton was coupled up with Hannah, exes Jake and Liberty were paired in awkward scenes and Mitchel was partnered with Kaz.

When he last appeared on the show in 2019, Chris broke down in tears after being saved from being dumped, telling his fellow islanders at the time: "I've never fitted in anywhere." The star said the nerves are ramping up ahead of the All Stars launch on ITV on Monday: "I will go through the same journey as I do anytime I go into any new group of people.

"Confidence is a tricky thing isn't it? Where it comes from, how you get it, how you keep it, that sort of thing. I wouldn't say I'm any more confident, particularly talking to other girls I don't really date that much. I haven't had loads of practice and I'm quite awkward.

"I'm a bit of a grower. I don't think anyone fancies me at first, it's more like later down the line when they've got to know me better. I'm not someone that is on the celebrity scene. I go to about two events a year just to make sure that people know I'm alive still. I'm not really in the fame game. I don't really know a lot about the people going in there. I think that will be good because I'll get to know them from day one."
