Harry Kane's pal Eric Dier is not moving into the superstar striker's new £30m home - because Harry has too many kids.

Dier will celebrate his 30th birthday on Monday at a training camp in Portugal with his new side Bayern Munich. The former Spurs star has enjoyed a close relationship with dad-of-four Kane for club and country. They used to travel side by side to Tottenham games and England tournaments, play golf regularly and enjoyed holidays together with their families.

But Dier joked that he will not be moving into Harry's imposing new mansion high on a hillside on the outskirts of Munich, saying: "I don't know if he has any space there. I have not been there yet but he has invited me so I will go there for sure.

"But I don't think I will stay there. He has a lot of kids so I know it is very busy. I don't want to add to that work." Dier had been ribbed online over his interview on arrival in Munich in which he adopted what sounded like a 'German' accent.

Fans joked it reminded them of former England boss Steve McClaren's 'Dutch twang' when he was boss of FC Twente back in 2008. Dier, who is fluent in Portuguese, is determined to learn German.

"I need some golf lessons and German lessons I need, for sure," he said. "I will be doing everything to learn the language, it is very important for me." On his £2.5m loan, which could be made permanent in the summer, he added: "It has been fantastic since I arrived, I felt the history, and the warmth of the family here which feels special."

Before setting off for Portugal today, he admitted that Kane was right about his habit of falling asleep on planes, saying: "I am famous for sleeping very well when we travel so Harry is right, I will be asleep on the plane to Portugal."
