Love Island star Liberty Poole says she will never go back to ex Jake Cornish

Love Islander Liberty Poole will not be following in Maya Jama ’s romantic footsteps when she returns to the show tomorrow.

For while presenter Maya reunited with her ex-fiance Stormzy, Liberty, 24, says there is no way she will be getting back with villa villain Jake Cornish.

The pair will meet again in the first series of Love Island: All-Stars, in which ex-contestants get another chance to find love. But Jake, 26, broke Liberty’s heart when they were on the ITV show in 2021 – and she is adamant he will not be getting a second chance.

Liberty said of show host Maya, 29, and grime star Stormzy, 30, who split in 2019 but rekindled their romance last year: “I think they’re an amazing power couple, they really suit. Me and Jake… not so much! There was reasons why we ended…based on incompatibility.”

Liberty and Jake were the favourites to win, but they split after he hinted he was not attracted to her and the pair left the island.

But Liberty has no regrets. She said: “That was the first time I’d ever put myself first. When things didn’t feel quite right in the relationship, I did just kind of choose myself. I think I did the right thing.”

Liberty said there is “no bad blood” between her and Jake and she hopes to find love in the villa near Cape Town, South Africa.

She said: “I’m looking to explore other connections – with new islanders.

Chris has a Ken-do attitude

Chris Taylor has vowed to bring his “Kenergy” from Barbie to the Love Island villa after Margot Robbie got him a cameo role in the movie.

The actress, who is a big fan of the show, asked Chris to audition to be one of the film’s Kens – and he hopes Margot will be watching as he returns to the villa for the All Star show tomorrow.

Chris, 33, said: “My favourite song is I’m Just Ken so the Kenergy is definitely coming with me. It’s a pretty cool thing to have done, isn’t it? Hopefully Margot will be watching. I think she watches it to decompress.

“Is she my dream woman? I think she’s every man’s ideal woman, to be fair.”
