Aitana Lopez has over 250,000 Instagram followers, and is considered one of Spain's hottest and most successful influencers - but she has a baffling secret.

The pink-haired beauty, with flawless skin, enchanting smile and athletic physique, can earn over £8,000 a month from sharing pictures from events, promoting products and brand deals - but she's not real. The 25-year-old, who is a model for Spanish fashion agency The Clueless, is an AI (artificial intelligence) creation.

Although Aitana's Instagram bio says she's "powered by AI," many people didn't question the influencer's authenticity in the beginning, according to Diana Nunez, who co-founded The Clueless with Rubén Cruz. The duo would receive numerous compliments about her appearance, and also invitations from people who wanted to meet her.

And even after finding out she wasn't real, they still "expressed their love" for the "incredibly convincing" computer-generated woman. It took two months and cost a whopping £3,500 to create the AI influencer, who they say has a "bold and determined" nature. But that's nothing compared to what she makes - as she can earn a huge £900 just for one Instagram post.

Speaking to The Sun, Diana explained that one of the positives of having an AI digital creator is that they have "direct control over every aspect," which is beneficial in a world where influencers can be more "high maintenance". She said: "When working with real influencers, challenges often arise related to negotiations, financial matters, special requirements, and additional needs. Dealing with ego-related issues and conflicts can complicate the workflow."

But not everything has been plain sailing for the AI superstar. Aitana, who often poses in designer outfits and minimal clothing on the beach, has come under fire for promoting products that can't be accredited for her stunning looks. Some believe he contributes to the pressure women face when it comes to meeting unrealistic beauty standards.

Body positive content creator Danae Mercer summed it up: "One, a man is making money off our bodies. But also, also also, THIS is the beauty standard our children will have to compete with."

Many of Danae's followers agreed, saying it was "terrifying," however, others deemed it "fascinating". Meanwhile, Diana sees it as the "future of modelling". Although she doesn't see "real models becoming obsolete," she believes they can "coexist as another competition of the industry".
