Inside Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry's love story as actor celebrates birthday
Orlando Bloom celebrates his 47th birthday today - Happy Birthday, Orlando!
The English actor is famed for his breakthrough as the character Legolas in The Lord of the Rings film series, with him also known for starring in the Pirates of the Caribbean, Troy, and The Outpost. And, aside from his acting work, Orlando is also known for being in a long-term relationship with American sweetheart Katy Perry.
Orlando and Katy are said to have met at the Golden Globe Awards in 2016, with them having both presented awards at the event in Beverly Hills. The Roar hitmaker has even spoken about their first interaction, with her getting candid on American Idol a few years ago.

The couple are rumoured to have met and started dating 2016 (orlandobloom/Instagram)While judging on the hit talent show, Katy revealed that she and Orlando had "met" over fast food chain In-N-Out Burger at the ceremony. She recalled: "I had my security guard grab 10 [burgers] and all of a sudden I see [Orlando's] hand. He wasn't even sitting at our table – he just swoops in and he grabs [one]".

Katy and Orlando are said to have then struck up a romance, with them dating throughout 2016 before allegedly breaking up in 2017. But the couple's love story wasn't over, as they reconciled in around 2018.
The following year they got engaged on Valentine's Day, with Katy having shared the proposal with Jimmy Kimmel in 2019. Orlando proposed after the pair took a helicopter ride following a lavish meal.

The couple later welcomed their daughter Daisy in 2020 after having announced the pregnancy in the video for Katy's single Never Worn White earlier that year. Not only was 2020 the year they welcomed their first child, but it was also the year they were meant to get hitched.
Orlando and Katy were originally set to tie the knot in 2020, but their plans were derailed when they couldn't secure their dream location. They then had to change their wedding plans again during the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, last weekend we revealed that Katy and Orlando are now hoping that 2024 will be "the year they make it happen". A source explained: "They're happier than ever and everyone is predicting they'll get married soon - possibly even on Valentine's Day, which is the anniversary of their engagement."
