Her shock announcement comes just a few days after she reflected on the “beginning of a new chapter” ahead of the first two gigs of her Las Vegas residency. “I couldn’t think of a better way to bid farewell to this incredible year than to spend this night in LAS VEGAS with all of you, surrounded by your energy and enthusiasm,” the Genie in a Bottle hitmaker gushed. “Cheers to the magical moments we’ll create, the music that will fill our hearts, and the endless possibilities that lie ahead.”

Back in October, Christina said the shows would let fans “ immerse yourself in the fusion of art and music,” and promised the residency would be very different to other big name performers in Sin City. “I’m bringing an intimate, seductive and sophisticated new show to Las Vegas. @voltairelv will allow me to be up-close-and-personal with YOU for a truly modern twist on the performance experience,” she shared.

The five-time Grammy winner teased fans in December with a video on Instagram from rehearsals showing her performing the track Guy What Takes His Time from her 2010 film with Cher. “10 days ‘til show day,” she captioned the post, promoting a flurry of comments from her overjoyed followers.

“Yasssssss come with the Burlesque vibes,” one wrote. “The people aren’t ready… this show is gonna blow their minds,” another added. “Our Burlesque QUEEN,” one follower agreed, as a fourth chimed in: “THE BURLESQUE RENAISSANCE!!!!!!!!!”
