Diablo 4 Season 3 release date confirmed to be later this month
The next big content drop for Diablo 4 has been confirmed to launch extremely soon, thanks to an early date mentioned within the game itself.
Although Diablo 4 players were able to keep themselves occupied thanks to the most recent festive-themed, limited-time Midwinter Blight event, fans have been ravenous to learn what the Diablo 4 Season 3 release date will be. This is because seasons in Diablo 4 have been known to last for no longer than three months, meaning Diablo 4 Season 2 is set to end this month with the next one replacing it. Up until now, developer Activision Blizzard has stayed quiet, but the cat is now out of the bag.
The good news is that the Diablo 4 Season 3 release date is coming around the time that most players predicted, and makes sense for how we know Activision Blizzard has handled these big new season drops so far. This means Diablo diehards won’t have to wait too long to jump into yet another gamut of endgame content.
Diablo 4 Season 3 release date – when will the new content drop?
The Diablo 4 Season 3 release date is confirmed to be Tuesday, January 23. Said start date was spotted by Destructoid, after spotting a new banner on the game’s login screen that stated “Season 3 – Next Season Begins January 23, 2024”. The Diablo 4 Season 3 release date is yet to be announced by Activision Blizzard itself, of course, but the fact that this is the date mentioned within the game itself means it’s extremely likely to be true.
All we need to know now is… everything else regarding Diablo 4 Season 3. You see, every season in Diablo 4 tends to riff on a new theme, introducing new mechanics and new endgame mechanics that are exclusively available to access during the three-month season. Diablo 4 Season 1 was named Season of the Malignant and Diablo 4 Season 2 was named Season of Blood. Diablo 4 Season 3’s theme and title are still unknown, but we expect these details to arrive soon.
Why Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's six week delay is a good thingDiablo 4’s community development director Adam Fletcher explained in a Twitter post recently that the studio “will have some news to share very soon” regarding Diablo 4 Season 3. He recognised that there has been “a lot of anticipation toward Season 3” since the Midwinter Blight ended, indicating that a Developer Update livestream would come soon. It’s during this that we’ll no doubt learn more about what new content will be added.
