Selena Gomez has quit social media after latest Kylie Jenner drama

Selena Gomez has announced that she will talking a break from social media following her latest drama with Kylie Jenner.

The Only Murders In The Building star shared a short clip of her boyfriend Benny Blanco playing with two young children as she made the announcement via her Instagram stories. She wrote: "'I'm off social for a while. I'm focusing on what really matters."

The move comes after Selena found herself caught up in a web of drama as she was spotted gossiping with Taylor Swift and Keleigh Teller at the 81st annual Golden Globe Awards.

The friends were filmed having what seemed to be a rather serious chat, with Selena leaning in to Taylor and Keleigh to share some juicy gossip. Fans were unable to hear what the women were talking about but thought she had asked Timothee Chalamet for a picture and his girlfriend Kylie Jenner stopped her.

Fans think Selena said to Taylor: "I asked for a picture with him and she [Kylie] said no." To which Keleigh then mouthed: "With Timothée?" to which Selena nodded. It was suggested that Selena then said: "Do you know what they said/did to me?" before Taylor eyes widened as she replied: "S**t, what the..." The Anti-Hero singer later added: "Oh my God, love you," and Selena replied: "Brought them back together."

But a lip-reading expert exclusively told The Mirror that Selena was talking about her boyfriend Benny Blanco - and not Kylie.
After the tense moment fans took to social media sharing their thoughts and one fan wrote: "It might be true, I'd do the same to my man lmao." Another wrote: "The heavy nod Selena did after lmaooo I just know she was ready for the mess she was about to start."And a third added: "Taylor's friend is messy as hell for yelling Timothee's name so loud like that. anyway the discourse around this is already weird. why am i seeing people saying she's ' too old for this' etc. ? if a former friend declined a photo with you literally any woman's first move would be to tell her best friends about it, it's really not that deep."

The interaction comes as Selena and Kylie have seemingly been feuding since March of 2023. The drama first began when Kylie and her bestie Hailey Bieber were accused of mocking Selena on social media for her looks. At the time the actress had shared a TikTok video of herself joking telling her fans that she had "accidentally laminated her brows too much."

Three hours after the post Kylie took to her Instagram story with her friend Hailey Bieber, who is married to Selena's ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, taking a close-up snap of their laminated eyebrows. Many fans believed that the pair were "mocking" the Only Murders in The Building star with the post.
