Arsenal have unveiled an incredible set of new artwork to give Emirates Stadium a whole new look.

Pictures of club legends like Tony Adams, Thierry Henry, George Armstrong and David Rocastle will feature as the club look to celebrate different eras of the men's and women's teams. Arsenal have already taken down the existing images around the stadium and will begin installing the eight pieces of new artwork from Thursday, January 12.

There will be a huge design which train passengers can see as they go past the stadium and a mural of different supporters’ groups and their flags, badges and banners from all over the world. The Gunners will also install a painting featuring 721 loyal fans who have supported the club as well as drawing inspiration from terrace chants and classic quotes.

There is an artwork celebrating club legends, the Invincibles season, the all-conquering women’s team, a picture of their former Highbury home and academy graduates. It is all aimed at giving the Emirates a major facelift but to also reconnect with the club’s traditions, values and memories of the past.

Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller, critically acclaimed artist Reuben Dangoor and distinguished graphic designer David Rudnick helped make the artwork, having had countless meetings with supporters, former players and club servants. Arsenal chief executive Vinai Venkatesham said: “This has been a fantastic project enabled by so many of the Arsenal family here in Islington and across the world.

“We genuinely couldn’t have brought this project to life without everyone working together and giving their passion and dedication to this work. I express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been involved and made this unique piece of work possible.

“We started with a blank canvas with the hope of capturing and expressing our rich history, our values of community and progress and reflect what Arsenal stands for in 2023 and beyond. The project has brought together our supporters, community, legends and staff as one. It's a real celebration of the Arsenal community, designed for and by the Arsenal family.”

Former Arsenal player Jack Wilshere, now an academy coach, features in the Future Brilliance piece and said: “Arsenal has been such an important part of my life for so long from such a young age as a player and now here I am writing another chapter with the club as an Academy coach.

“To be part of the artwork is really humbling and a big honour for me personally, but it also shows our commitment to developing young players and is a signal to them about seizing opportunities here. That’s a really important message for our young players but also for young people in our community.”
