Meghan and Harry's time in the spotlight 'diminishes every day' amid new crisis
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are facing a "substantial crisis" as their Hollywood status "diminishes with each passing day", according to an expert.
The couple secured a number of exclusive partnerships when they first moved to America, but they've been relatively quiet in recent months. Despite Meghan teasing that their are new projects in the pipeline, the Sussexes faced disaster when their $25million (£19million) partnership with Spotify was axed last year.
Harry also caused controversy with the release of his debut memoir Spare, which divided readers across the globe. Now, the pair have been the butt of a number of jokes in Hollywood, with Golden Globe host Jo Koy slamming them in his opening monologue.

"How great was Imelda Staunton in The Crown, wasn’t she amazing? Her portrayal of the Queen was so good Prince Harry called her and asked her for money," he said. Jo acknowledged the savage joke and continued: "Like I said, I didn't write all of these! That one wasn't mine! Prince Harry and Meghan will still be paid millions of dollars for doing absolutely nothing - and that's just by Netflix!"
Kate Middleton swears by £19.99 rosehip oil that helps 'reduce wrinkles & scars'Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, public relations expert Ryan McCormick said Meghan and Harry should be "thankful" to Jo for making the joke. He explained: "The fact that Jo Koy felt compelled to bring them up means that in his eyes the ex-royals are still relevant."
Ryan added: "If Meghan and Harry are trying to establish themselves as an indomitable force in Hollywood, from a PR perspective they're putting on a clinic about how not to do it thus far. Tinseltown like most industries covets those who can provide prestige and monetary value.
"If the duo simply produced more content (TV shows or even revived their podcast) which either entertained or financially benefited others, they would be in a much better position today. Meghan and Harry don't even have to appear in content which is solely focused on them. They can be consultants for a number of media productions and even put up money to produce high profile films."
However, the expert said the couple are losing the chance to make it in Hollywood. He explained: "Because of a lack of action and because (to my knowledge) we don't hear Meghan and Harry refuting any of the criticism lobbied at them, their time in the spotlight diminishes with each passing day.
"Meghan and Harry should write Jo Koy a thank you note for mentioning them. When the day comes that the Duke & Duchess of Sussex aren't comedic fodder and we don't hear others discussing them, that is the day that a substantial crisis has arrived."
