Coronation Street viewers saw a familiar face on the ITV soap on Tuesday, as another character made a big return.

Just episodes on from the comebacks of Bethany Platt, Harvey Gaskell and Damon Hay, another past character returned to the ITV soap has part of a new storyline. Abi Franklin met up with someone from her past, just four months since their last Corrie stint where they caused drama for newcomer Cassie Plummer.

Dean Turnbull, played by actor Anthony Crank, was back on screen on Tuesday for new scenes. Abi had reached out to the villain and her former dealer, but it wasn't for her.

After Paul Foreman shocked Todd Grimshaw with a sad request, as he continued to deteriorate following his motor neurone disease diagnosis last year, he then turned to Abi for help. Paul asked Todd to help him end his life, but his friend refused and instead, Paul reached out to Abi.

Paul knew Abi likely had contacts who could get her drugs, and asked her to get some for him. She refused, but soon had a change of heart as Paul opened up on his battle.

Abi was shown meeting up with Dean who handed her the drugs, and she later gave them to Paul. The pair were caught in the act though by Cassie, and soon Abi's partner Kevin Webster and Paul's partner Billy Mayhew learned what was going on.

This doesn't appear to be the last we will see of Dean though, as it was recently teased there could be more drama ahead. Dean will apparently become involved in scenes between villains Harvey and Damon, as the brothers are at war.

The Sun Online claimed via a source: "The cobbles are going to be rocked by the return of nasty drug dealer Dean Turnbull. He's terrorised Abi Webster and Cassie Plummer before now and he's back to his old tricks.

"Fans will see him team up with another returning villain as he's wrapped up in Damon Hay's comeback and his war against his brother Harvey." It's not yet been confirmed by bosses what is in the pipeline for the villain, and when he will be back on screen after his latest stint.
