Victoria Beckham took to her Instagram account on Tuesday to share a somewhat unusual Spice Girls announcement.

Posh Spice's latest update comes just hours on from her former bandmate Mel B teasing a Spice Girls reunion involving all five members is on the cards.

Victoria, 49, rose to fame in the superstar pop group in the mid-1990s alongside bandmates Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisholm. The five-piece became a worldwide phenomenon, scoring a string of number one singles and albums before calling it quits in 2000.

A handful of reunions followed - most notably to perform at the London Olympics in 2012. Now, to mark the girls' 30th anniversary, Royal Mail has revealed it is releasing a series of commemorative stamps to celebrate the milestone.

Sharing her delight at the news with an iconic pose from the group's heyday, Posh took to her Instagram account to tell her 32.6 million followers: "Honoured to be the first girl group to be featured on a commemorative stamp and so proud of everything we’ve achieved @SpiceGirls!!"

She continued: "Thank you to my family, friends and all of our fans around the world for the love and support!" before tagging her four pals, along with the word, "Kisses." Fans were quick respond to the singer, "Thank you, Posh, for everything you’ve given us and congratulations to this iconic road you’ve taken. We’re all very happy to support you all. You make us all proud. Well deserved! Love you!" Another added: "Iconic & totally deserved. Girl power."

A third wrote: "I ordered £600 worth of stamps. All the limited stuff. So proud of you. It's about time we saw Queen VB on a stamp." And a fourth penned: "You have made history, proud of the past and present. Spice Girls Forever."

Announcing the new stamps and a range of associated collectors' edition products, Royal Mail said they had worked with the Spice Girls to select the images that feature on the set of 10 stamps. And in a promotion, the company said: "You 'Wannabe' first in line for our fantastic new Spice Girls Stamps! Commemorate the legendary girl group's 30th anniversary with our exclusive Stamps & Collectibles."

Yesterday, meanwhile, Mel B teased some forthcoming major Spice Girls news as she joined American morning radio show, Today with Hoda & Jenna. Scary Spice declared: "Well, I've been saying this forever, but now we're actually going to be releasing some really good news in about a few weeks that involves all five of us."

She went on to explain that coordinating a new tour is tricky, adding: "There's five of us and we've got five different diaries, and we're all parents." But she enthused that fans will be "100 percent satisfied" by an imminent announcement. "It's going to be the gift that keeps on giving, without saying too much about it… I’m going to get myself into so much trouble," she said.
