Meghan Markle's Suits co-star answers rumour Duchess will return for spin-off

Patrick J. Adams has admitted he would love to work on a Suits spin-off with Meghan Markle.

The Duchess of Sussex starred in the hit legal drama as paralegal Rachel Zane, with her character eventually tying the knot with Mike Ross (played by Patrick) before moving to Seattle together in the season seven finale. Meghan then stepped away from her acting career as she joined the Royal Family.

However, Patrick has teased they could reunite for a new project. As he walked the red carpet at the 81st annual Golden Globe Awards, the 42-year-old described Meghan as a "fantastic actor" and said they would be "lucky to have her back in the industry".

Speaking to E! News interviewer Keltie Knight, Patrick said: "Yes, yes let's go, I'll do it." He then teased fans about what they could expect from the spin-off, saying: "Yeah I'm ready, Mike and Rachel in Seattle."

Suits has recently had a resurgence in popularity after returning to Netflix last summer. Patrick said he feels "honoured" that it was given a "second life", with new fans tuning in for the first time.

He added: "When you walk away from a show, you think that's it and then you're gonna move on to something else. And just to know that a whole new generation of people are finding it and loving it, loving it almost more than they loved it the first time round, it's incredible."

Patrick and his Suits co-star Gabriel Macht reunited on the red carpet of the Golden Globes. They were later joined onstage by Suits stars Gina Torres and Sarah Rafferty. Gina explained that Meghan hadn't been invited to the reunion because she's not in their group chat.

However, a source has now claimed the Duchess of Sussex actually was invited to the glitzy ceremony but turned down the offer. They said Meghan was simply too busy to attend.

"We asked the duchess, but we were told that, unfortunately, she had a previous commitment," a Golden globes source told Page Six. Gina said the Suits group chat, which doesn't include Meghan, had been going wild before the reunion. She explained they had been "texting each other" before adding: "Our text thread is insane right now."
