The city of Paris paid a massive tribute to music icon David Bowie as they named a new street after the legendary singer to commemorate what would've been his 77th birthday.

On Monday morning fans of the influential singer lined the streets in France as they celebrated the inauguration of the landmark with a lively concert and beautiful exhibit dedicated to the beloved artist filled with photos and colourful flowers. Jerome Coumet, the mayor of the 13th arrondissement, first announced the decision to immortalize the late singer back in 2020 to honour Bowie's long-lasting impact on music, fashion, and culture in the city.

Bowie fans raved as they welcomed the brand new street dedicated to the singer that lies between the Jardin des Plantes botanical gardens and the National Library. The street sits between two modern office buildings as well as the headquarters of famous news outlets Le Monde and L'Obs.

Fans were devastated when the news of Bowie's death broke as he passed two days after the release of his 26th and last studio album Blackstar as well as his 69th birthday. Ahead of his death, Bowie made a powerful impact on millions of fans with his music continuing to change lives today.
