Apple fans are about to get their hands on one of the biggest new products Apple has launched in years. The radical Vision Pro headset, which was first shown to the world last June, is going on sale next month with Apple addicts able to strap it to their faces for the very first time.

This device, which costs an eye-watering $3,499, is more than just a bog standard VR headset with Apple calling the technology spatial computing.

Along with viewing content in a fully immersive space, users can also mix the real and virtual worlds together with applications, such as Safari, Messages and email, overlayed on top of what's physically around them. The headset is also powered by batteries meaning owners can move around whilst using it.

There are also no annoying controllers to worry about with taps and swipes all managed via finger and eye tracking. It also includes in-built speakers and a front display which shows an image of your eyes to people not wearing it.

Mirror Online was one of the first in the world to try this technology and we were left pretty speechless by the experience. In, fact, it really is like nothing we've tested before.

“The era of spatial computing has arrived,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “Apple Vision Pro is the most advanced consumer electronics device ever created. Its revolutionary and magical user interface will redefine how we connect, create, and explore.”

Sadly, if you were hoping to rush to your local Apple store on February 2nd you're going to be left disappointed.

Apple is currently only offering Vison Pro in the US with no word yet on a global launch.

If you do live on the other side of the pond, Apple says pre-orders will begin on January 19th at 8AM ET.
