Viewers of Limitless Win have accused hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly of "ruining" the show after it returned to ITV on Saturday night.

It marked the first installment of the programme since series two ended in February 2023. The gameshow is the only one of its kind to offer a limitless cash jackpot, and the format has previously seen big wins by contestants including series one's Katherine and Will, who walked away with a cool £500,000.

To the disappointment of fans, however, Ant and Dec released a spoiler during Saturday's episode that someone was going to leave with a whopping £1 million. They soon took to X (formerly Twitter), hitting out at the presenting duo for taking away the element of surprise.

One user rued: "I do find it really weird when gameshows release info about "biggest winner!" in advance. Erm, you've just ruined the thrill of it being the biggest winner by telling me?" Another declared: "Well that was a hell of a spoiler on the next time bit. Knowing ITV they'll drag it out to last episode of series to see the ones win a million."

A third commented: "Well that was a massive unnecessary spoiler at the start of #LimitlessWin when they announced someone cashes out for a million." A fourth added: "Oh cheers for that MASSIVE SPOILER - It's not like I tune in to see how far they reach or how much they are going to win or anything!" And a fifth said: "Massive spoilers are just killing #LimitlessWin. It’s moronic, no one wants it. Stop it ITV and keep the mystery!"

Speaking about the new series at the end of December, Ant promised "more drama, more tension, more fun, and more wins than ever before... more contestants climb over a million pounds on our ladder than we've ever had before. And big wins." Dec added: "Safe to say, it’s a groundbreaking series in more ways than one."

The pair continued to spill the beans on the new series and there was one moment which they felt would be one of the funniest moments from the series. Dec revealed that it was "when Ant jumped on the desk, I was really shocked. And it was quite funny when he nearly broke it." Ant also added that the contestants were coming more prepared than ever and many had done "proper research" with "spreadsheets, things written down on bits of paper."

"We have to check their arms before we go into the studio in case they wrote the answers down, like kids doing exams." Dec then added: "No wonder we've had more people going further up the ladder than ever before."

Despite the complaints, ITV has already confirmed a fourth series is on the cards in 2024, according to TV Zone. With six million tuning in the show's first ever episode two years ago, Limitless Win boasted ITV's biggest entertainment series launch since The Masked Singer.

Ant & Dec's Limitless Win airs Saturdays at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
