Liverpool might be sitting top of the Premier League table but that doesn't mean there isn't work to do for Jurgen Klopp and co in the January transfer window.

The Reds will take a break from top-flight action this Sunday to face Arsenal in the FA Cup third round. Meanwhile, Anfield chiefs are working on both potential incomings and outgoings. Sales are expected to be more prevalent in order to fund Klopp's ongoing rebuild, as Liverpool 2.0 will require some more tinkering if they're to reach the heights of the the German boss' first Reds side.

Here's a round-up of the latest transfer news from Anfield.

Henderson wants Premier League return

Jordan Henderson reportedly wants to leave Saudi Arabia and sign for a Premier League club - just six months after doing the opposite. Last summer, Henderson made the shock decision to leave Anfield after 13 years of service to reunite with former Liverpool team-mate Steven Gerrard, who manages Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq.

Now, according to the Daily Mail, the ex-Reds captain is desperate to come back to England in a move which would see him lose out on millions. Henderson, 32, signed a lucrative contract worth a rumoured £700,000 per week with Al-Ettifaq, who are currently on a run of nine games without a win.

Wolves eye Carvalho swoop

Premier League side Wolves have been tipped to sign Liverpool midfielder Fabio Carvalho after he returned from his loan at RB Leipzig early. 22-year-old Carvalho made 15 appearances in Germany but failed to nail down a starting place and is now back on Merseyside.

The Portugal youth international, also linked with a return to former club Fulham and Championship league leaders Leicester City, is now on Wolves' shopping list, according to reports in Italy. Chiefs at Molineux have contacted Liverpool in the hope of signing him.

Liverpool sent Mbappe message

Ex-Liverpool star Gary McAllister has urged the Reds to complete a move to sign PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe. With his contract expiring at the end of this season, Mbappe will soon be a free agent and multiple outlets have named Liverpool as the frontrunners for his signature.

Speaking to Boyle Sports, McAllister declared: "I think clubs like Liverpool should always be there when a world superstar like Kylian Mbappe becomes available. If there's an opportunity there, and if the Mbappe deal is in line with the budgets and how the club is run, then Liverpool should be interested as far as I'm concerned."
