The Masked Singer fans 'work out' Owl's identity as ITV star after 'clever clue'

The Masked Singer UK fans think they have rumbled Owl's identity after spotting a slew of 'clever clues'.

The show returned last Saturday night, with panellists Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan trying to work out the identity of six new characters, with guest Charlie Simpson, although Rita Ora was back for this weekend. Confirmed for the latest lineup on Saturday night were Air Fryer, Bubble Tea, Owl, Eiffel Tower, Chicken Caesar and Piranha.

During the latest episode, Owl went against the Eiffel Tower before dropping a collection of clues. Owl had a lot of football clues, and at one point used tangerines as a clue. Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers are convinced Owl is Lorraine Kelly due to the character having a Scottish accent. Also, Lorraine's, 64, favourite football team is Dundee United, who wear a tangerine orange uniform.

One person said: "Owl = Lorraine Kelly #MaskedSingerUK", a different account said: "Owl just sounds like Lorraine Kelly #MaskedSingerUK", and another viewer wrote: "Best #MaskedSingerUK of 2024 Tangerines big clue. Lorraine Kelly", another show watcher said: "The Owl sounded so much like Lorraine Kelly #MaskedSingerUK" while another added: "#MaskedSingerUK Lorraine Kelly loves Dundee Football Club, clue was tangerines their nickname."

Also taking part are Cricket, Weather, Marypole, Bigfoot, Dippy Egg and Rat, who featured in the first episode of the series, where Weather was revealed as Dionne Warwick. Music icon Dionne left the panel starstruck as she unveiled herself as the star under the costume. She then shared her joy at being asked to do the series but admitted the struggles she faced trying to disguise her voice on the show.

Meanwhile, host Joel Dommett couldn’t wait for the show to start and previously said: "Honestly, they are the best costumes ever. If they don’t make you smile, well, get out! Air Fryer is unbelievably silly. It's so liberating to be a part of a show where first of all, people really enjoy it and also from my point of view, any idea I have, it's fair game. Even when it comes to the suits!

"I think we've definitely got some of the best vocalists we've ever had on the show and we've had some really incredible ones in the past. The show goes through an interesting meandering of, we are all here for all the new characters, but then maybe the better singers start to get through in the last rounds, usually the final. Let's be honest, it’s usually really incredible singers left at that point. This year I really do feel like we've got some of the best we've ever had."

Talking about the costumes, Jonathan Ross said: "I love all of them. I really loved Weather. I thought that was a really beautiful, quite romantic, quite poetic-looking costume. I liked Piranha a lot. They're fun, I have to say. Bubble Tea is great. Well, Bubble Tea and Air Fryer make the show very, very modern, don't they? There's a couple of phrases that weren't in common conversation two or three years ago, and now we've got them dancing on primetime ITV1!"
