Jake Paul provides update on Tommy Fury rematch talks ahead of ring return

Jake Paul has sent fight contracts to two potential opponents after claiming Tommy Fury didn't respond to his rematch offer.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul suffered the first defeat of his boxing career at the hands of Fury when they fought at the beginning of last year. Paul has since returned to winning ways by beating UFC legend Nate Diaz and most recently knocking out Andre August in the first round.

Love Island star Fury fought last October when he won a controversial decision against Paul's bitter rival KSI. The Love Island star was in talks to fight 54-year-old boxing legend Roy Jones Jr but discussions have fizzled out in recent weeks. Paul said of a potential rematch against Fury: "He got an offer 3 weeks ago. Been mum since.”

“My team sent out two contracts today. Let’s see which of the two potential opponents accepts first. Saturday March 2nd. Puerto Rico. Live on DAZN." No opponent has yet been named to face Paul, who was recently called out by Indian boxer Neeraj Goyat despite being 40lb lighter than the YouTuber.

Unknown cruiserweight Ryan Bourland, who holds a professional record of 19-2, has also been another opponent circulating on social media who is linked to fight Paul. The YouTuber has opted to fight away from pay-per-view for his next bout as he looks to build up his record by fighting lesser-known opponents at smaller events.

Paul will not be fighting in a co-main event for the first time since his professional debut in his next fight, which is set to take place on March 9 in Puerto Rico. Amanda Serrano, who is managed by Paul, will headline the event that also features the debut of Euphoria star Wanna Walton.

"This one is for the greatest Puerto Rican boxer ever, Amanda Serrano. This one is for the people of Puerto Rico, from the Choliseo to the world. This one is for all of boxing to see how powerful women are in this sport and for Wanna Walton to usher in his superstar boxing future in front of 20,000 people," Paul said of his next fight."
