Darts professional Luke Littler has shared the six-word warning from his mum and dad as huge celebrities continue to slide into his DM's following a whirlwind week which quickly saw him become a national treasure.

At just 16-years-old, Runcorn-born Luke took the nation by storm when he reached the final on his PDC World Championship debut, overcoming former champions Raymond van Barneveld and Rob Cross along the way. He came up short against Luke Humphries, despite having chances to open up a lead, but still secured by far the biggest score of his career to date.

Despite losing out on the World Championship title, Littler still landed a whopping £200,000 pay-day and his mum and dad have now issued a warning to their son - who is being showered with praise from some of his childhood hero's including David Beckham and Rio Ferdinand.

After what he described as 'the craziest week of his life', Luke joined Nicki Chapman on BBC Radio 2's The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show to discuss how his life has done a complete 360 in such a short space of time. Luke, who admitted that he's still very much taking in everything that has happened, said that it will most certainly take him some time to get used to being noticed amid his newfound fame.

"It's absolutely crazy. This week I've been to the Arsenal grounds and people just knew who I was. They didn't know my name, but I could hear people saying 'Oh, there's that 16-year-old'. It's going to take some getting used to," Luke told Nicki. And after turning professional this week, Luke admitted that his proud parents sat him down to have a word as they shared a reminder to stay humble and not get caught up in the chaos of his newfound notoriety.

Luke explained that his mum and dad, Anthony Buckley and Lisa Littler, reminded the teen that 'life from now on is going to be very different' from the one he has always known.

In a matter of weeks, Luke's incredible talent has catapulted him not only to the forefront of his sports career, but it has also captured the attention and admiration of huge celebrities - including David Beckham.

Speaking on BBC Radio 2 on Friday morning, Luke admitted that he's felt a bit starstruck. "David Beckham has messaged me, and Romeo too. He was at the darts in Ally Pally. Rio Ferdinand as well. It's mad. I actually can't believe it," Luke gushed.

After his life-changing week and £200,000 pay cheque, Luke is now going to take some time away to process the huge milestones in his life. The teen is setting off on UK family holiday and hopes to enjoy some rest and relaxation - all the while trying to get used to his newfound fame.
