Prince William and Kate are firmly among the most popular royals in the UK, according to the latest polls.
YouGov's ranking of most popular public figures for Q3 2023 shows members of the Royal Family dominating the list following a year of high drama, which included a coronation watched by millions, two bombshell books and ever-increasing scrutiny from the public.
Four of the top five most popular public figures in the UK belong to the Firm, while former US President Barack Obama at #4 is the highest-rated non-royal. King Charles III, however, was not one of the top-rated royals, nor was his wife Queen Camilla.

The fifth most popular royal featured in YouGov's survey is Zara Tindall, granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II and a niece of King Charles III. She's married to Mike Tindall, a former England rugby union player. Famous for her success in equestrian sports, she won a silver medal at the London 2012 Olympics - and it seems this life outside the royal households has helped enamour her with the public, with 54% of all people holding a positive opinion.

4. Anne, Princess Royal
Seen as a reliable and constant source of support during the ups and downs of royal life, Zara's mother Anne, Princess Royal has long been one of the most popular members of the family. The data shows that 64% of all respondents thought of her highly last year. Another Olympian, she became the first member of the British royal family to compete in the Olympic Games back in 1976, also in the equestrian event.

The third-highest-rated royal is the man next in line to the throne, Prince William. A total of 69% gave him a positive rating, showing a strong endorsement for his role as future king. He's managed to stay popular amid the highly-publicised feud with his brother, Prince Harry, who received a comparatively low rating of 24%.
2. Catherine, Princess of Wales
William's devoted wife Kate Middleton is ahead of him at second on the list. The Princess of Wales has been praised for how effortlessly she has taken to royal life since marrying Prince William in 2011, and it's reflected in her poll ratings, at a more-than-healthy 71%. As well as undertaking royal duties on behalf of the Royal Family, she is also patron of a number of charitable causes and organisations, many of which are centred around supporting disadvantaged children.
1. Queen Elizabeth II
Britain's longest-ever reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, remains the most popular royal and public figure in the UK more than a year after her death. Eight out of ten people (80%) have a positive opinion of the late Queen, who is widely credited with bringing a sense of stability to the country in the aftermath of World War II, and during many decades of huge social upheaval.
