Christina Aguilera has revealed her 40lb weight loss and exactly how she achieved it.

The Beautiful singer showered off her astounding weight loss as she put on a dazzling display during her iconic Las Vegas residency opening night. She wore a series of skimpy leotards and thigh-high heeled boots, showcasing her curvy, slim figure.

Christina previously admitted that she "hated being super skinny" but has began embracing her figure and "loving my new curves." She has spent years fluctuating her weight but now she is determined to maintain a slender, strong physique while "having a booty," she told Health.

Her secret is sticking to a healthy, balanced diet and a rigorous exercise regime. Following the birth of her son, Max, in 2008, she dropped 40lbs by restricting her food intake to 1600 calories a day and following the Rainbow Diet. Christina also sticks to a plant-rich regime and ensures she's eating "brightly coloured fruits and vegetables" every day.

According to an interview with L'Officiel Italia in 2020, she's since quit dieting and focuses solely on eating clean, consuming more whole foods and less sugary snacks.

The 42-year-old has been keeping up appearances by getting anti-wrinkle injections in a bid to slow down the ageing process, she admitted early last year. The Staten Island native has said she is so impressed by the procedure that she's now putting her name to the product as she hopes to rid her frown lines.

She has long been praised for her appearance after bursting onto the music scene as a platinum-blonde teen. Now, she is set to work with Xeomin on their Beauty on Your Terms campaign and has revealed her reasoning for doing so.

Speaking to PEOPLE, she said: "I'm really into feeling more self-assured as you get older." She believes she now can maintain a "more natural" look, adding: "We like expression, especially in my line of work.

"I don't want to have a frozen face. Whether it's being on-camera or performing onstage, I have to stay authentic to my emotion." And she revealed she hopes women can continue to feel confident as they get older. "Viewing ageing as a negative is a super old-school approach," she continued.

"I've seen myself go through different stages of my life and complain about certain things. As I've gotten older, I look back, and I'm like, 'God, every stage is a new era.'"
