In a recent interview with The Guardian, Michelle became emotional when discussing her life and career, including the dream home she and her husband, former The Only Way is Essex star Mark, have built in his hometown of Essex. The couple moved into their stunning new home in September 2022. They bought the mock-Tudor style house in Essex for a reported £3.5 million back in October 2019 and over nearly four years, they transformed the existing property into their very own luxury Georgian-style mansion.

They moved in while adding the final touches to their dream home. But it wasn't until August last year (2023) that the couple, who got married in 2015, could truly celebrate after completing their incredible resort-like garden which finished off the massive build.

Michelle opened up talking about her house to The Observer, The Guardian's Sunday paper. Mid-build, she was filming in Australia for BBC historical drama Ten Pound Poms and said: "And when I walked in, Mark had lit all the candles and... I couldn't speak for five minutes. He was like, 'What do you think?' I couldn't find the words to say how I felt, because I was so overwhelmed. I just burst out crying."

Fighting back tears, Michelle continued with the memory of that moment: "It still gets me emotional. Because we've worked really hard for it. We've had to make a lot of sacrifices. I missed lots of milestones in my life due to work. Mark went to LA and we spent months apart, which was hard. But, it's worth it. And the house it's also about security. Because you never know when all this is going to end."
