Ryan Thomas was clearly amazed by his daughter Scarlett's singing voice

Ryan Thomas looked every inch the proud dad as he watched his teenage daughter belt out a Disney classic at home on New Year's Day.

In a cute video shared to his Instagram story, 39-year-old Ryan appeared to be overcome with pride as Scarlett, 15, sang Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid. Talented youngster Scarlett, whose mum is another Corrie star in Tina O'Brien, followed in her parent's footsteps last year when she was cast in the BBC teen drama, Waterloo Road.

Now it seems acting isn't the only string to her bow. The former Coronation Street star's pal Ashley James of Made In Chelsea fame also shared the clip, meanwhile, as he pointed out: "That's the face of a proud dad right there."

Along with Scarlett, Ryan saw in 2024 with his fiancé Lucy Mecklenburgh, 32, and their two children, Roman, three, and Lilah, one. The family will have been making the most of their time together - ahead of Ryan joining up with Dancing On Ice Later this month, where he will partner professional skater Amani Fancy in the rink.

Earlier in the festive season Ryan was spotted partying with three former co-stars seven years after leaving his Jason Grimshaw role in Weatherfield. Ryan who spent 16 years in the Street, took to Instagram to post a festive snap with Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby), Brooke Vincent (Sophie Webster) and Samia Longchambon (Maria Connor).

Posing in front of a beautifully decorated gold and silver Christmas tree, even Ryan’s three-year-old son Roman got in on the act as he joined his famous dad and friends for the cute snap And tagging his ex-colleagues, he wrote: "Manchester's finest & Roman."

Earlier in 2023 both Ryan and Tina shared their pride in Scarlett's achievements. Scarlett plays Izzy Charles on Waterloo Road and her on-screen dad is in fact played by her uncle, Adam Thomas, 35. And keeping it in the family, her on-screen brother Tommy Charles is played by Adam's son Teddy, nine.

As Scarlett made her first appearance on the show, mum Tina gushed on Instagram: "We are watching and are super proud!" Prior to the programme airing, Ryan wrote: "Tonight, BBC One, 8pm, Waterloo Road, my little brother Adam, my little nephew Teddy and eldest daughter Scarlett take over the TV screen together as a family. Talk about a proud moment for the Thomases! Wow. I cannot wait for you guys to see it. We watched it as a family. It's beyond beautiful. So well shot. Incredible storyline".
