New ITV show to impersonate celebs like Adele in normal situations using tech

The glitzy world of mega-rich celebs is about to go from puttin' on the Ritz to puttin' out the bins...

Stars such as singer Adele and footballer Harry Kane will be seen on TV leading surprisingly humdrum lives at their unexpectedly modest homes.

Sort of. In fact, it is a comedy show using deep fake technology.

The computer wizardry transforms the actors' features into famous faces.

The series - Deep Fake Neighbour Wars - shows the celebs as residents involved in petty disputes over things such as broken patio tiles and strange smells.

David Simpson, head of comedy at Tiger Aspect Productions, which has made the programme, said: "We wanted this to be a fun and silly show, rather than anything satirical."

ITV's Deep Fake Neighbour Wars will feature deep fake impersonations of celebrities like Adele (ITV)

It will also feature actors playing Stormzy and Harry Kane (ITV)

He added: "That meant we picked celebrities who are our heroes and used the tech to create something playful and daft and hopefully very funny."

Actors filmed scripted scenes and in post production, their faces were replaced with those of the celebrities they were playing using the deep fake method, placing the world's most famous A-listers in ridiculously normal settings and situations.

The sketch show, featuring a host of impressionists, includes US singer Beyonce in front of a laptop while working from home on a headset.

While TV presenter Lorraine Kelly is depicted with lots of tattoos.

Idris Elba and Kim Kardashian are among the other celebrities impersonated on the show (ITV)

Rihanna will also be impersonated (ITV)

Other stars mimicked on the show include Kim Kardashian, Stormzy, Simon Cowell, Tyson Fury, Idris Elba, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Conor McGregor and Jay Z.

The more the actor resembled the celeb, the better the deep fakes worked.

Deep Fake Neighbour Wars launches on ITVX on January 26.
