Tony Hadley has once again reflected on feud with his former Spandau Ballet bandmates - issuing a poignant two-word response when asked how he feels about the fallout.

The 80s boyband, which included brothers Martin and Gary Kemp, frontman Tony Hadley, saxophonist Steve Norman and drummer John Keeble, had eight UK top 10 albums and ten UK top 10 hits.

In March 1990, they decided to take a break to focus on solo projects, but it turned into a full-on split when Tony, John and Steve tried to sue Gary in a High Court Battle over royalties.

Despite their differences, the band made an impressive comeback in 2009, embarking on a world tour and releasing a new studio album. However, old rivalries soon resurfaced. Tony quit the band for good in 2017, claiming that the rest of the band "made his life impossible."

Speaking in a new interview, Tony recalled having "some amazing times" with the band but admitted "there were some real lows as well." The singer explained how "in 2017, I refused to be treated that way and that's it," before declaring the split "very sad" for Spandau Ballet fans but not his "choosing or making".

Tony then issued a two-word quip after admitting he's only in touch with one former bandmate - "that's life!". "Only with Steve (Normal) not seen the others since 2015," Tony admitted when speaking to Best magazine. "But that's life," he continued, "I am doing that song on the tour actually - it sums up my attitude! You never know where life is going to take you, but you just have to pick yourself up and roll with it."

On Jeremy Vine's show in July 2020, when asked about calling Tony, Martin Kemp hesitated before explaining: "Listen you know what it is...it's something I would love to do and I know Gary would love to do it. It's very difficult to get five adults to say 'yes' at the same time."

He added that he gets why Tony wants to be solo: "Tony at the moment doesn't want to do it and I understand why. I understand his reasons for wanting to be on his own and be a solo singer. Being in a band is great as a kid, it's a journey, an adventure. When you're an adult you want to be in charge of your own life so I completely understand him wanting to be on his own."

In 2021, Gary from the group hinted they might not ever come back together for another gig. He even said he never really got along with Tony, even back in school, so fixing their friendship isn't on the cards. He spilled the beans to the Daily Star: "Tony and I never hung out other than working together, even at school. Steve Norman and I were friends for sure, John Keeble and I were friends," adding, "But there was nothing with Tony. It's not like, 'Oh, I need to regain our friendship'. Mine and Tony's relationship was a working relationship, always was."

And in a chat with the Mirror in March, Tony made it clear he's done with his old bandmates, saying "I'm pretty easy-going, it takes a lot to get to that point but once you've pushed me and crossed that line, that's it. I'm done."
