Leicester defender wanted in Europe

Wout Faes was among the players expected to leave Leicester following last season's relegation from the Premier League but the Belgian defender has unexpectedly stuck around and been a key player so far this season for Enzo Maresca's Championship leaders. However, the 25-year-old is now attracting suitors from clubs across Europe, with Faes reportedly on the list of potential defensive incomings for Serie A side Atalanta, according to .

EFL 72 says: Faes can be commended for sticking around in the Championship so far when many thought it would be a straightforward exit in the summer following relegation. We're not sure Leicester would stand in his way should he want to move but it would be a big dent to there backline going into the business end of the season.

Leeds 'won't fall asleep' in January window

Leeds boss Daniel Farke has reassured supporters by stating that the club "won't fall asleep" in the January transfer window despite an expected quiet month for the club. The German r evealed that he expects the Whites to be quiet in the January transfer market but hasn’t ruled out any incomings and outgoings should the right opportunity present itself.

“Obviously, this club needs stability after too difficult years and also if I'm really honest a very, very difficult spell from August to September,” he said.“We won't fall asleep. We wish for a quiet January but we won't fall asleep and if there are decisions to make, we will make decisions and you never know what happens."

EFL 72 says: Leeds will be eager to keep up with the pack chasing for automatic promotion this season and supporters will be pleased to hear that the club are ready to utilise the market to their advantage should they need to. Keeping focused is important towards the end of the campaign and panicking by making the wrong signings could throw them off course for an instant return to the top flight.

Neville's Salford 'considering appointing co-owner Giggs as new manager'

It hasn't been a season to remember for Salford City so far, as they currently sit just six points above the relegation zone in League Two. The club recently sacked manager Neil Wood following a 5-1 loss to Tranmere Rovers, just a few months after he had guided them to the play-offs last season. The search for another new boss at the Peninsula Stadium is on and, according to a report from the Sun, co-owner Ryan Giggs is in the frame to take over.

EFL 72 says:Salford are starting to look in real trouble this season after several years of being a comfortable outfit in League Two. They haven't won a league fixture since October and it will be interesting to see how someone so well-connected to the club gets on in the hot seat should they be appointed. Managers at the Peninsula Stadium don't often get long, but will this be different if Giggs takes charge?

Hull summer signing could be early window exit

Full-back James Furlong only joined Hull City in the summer but it appears his time at the KCOM Stadium could already be up before it even got started. According to a report from the Hull Daily Mail, Tigers boss Liam Rosenior is set to freshen up his side in the January window, with Furlong one of the names supposedly on the way out.

The 21-year-old arrived on deadline day from Premier League side Brighton but has not played a single minute for Hull since his move from the South Coast. A number of clubs in League One, League Two and north of the border in Scotland are reportedly interested in taking the 21-year-old Dubliner, including former club Motherwell.

EFL 72 says:It's never great to see your name on these sorts of lists having just signed for your new club in the summer but a move a way could actually turn out be the right decision if Rosenior has made it clear that he won't be in his future plans.

Bristol City set to make first signing

One club starting business early in January is Bristol City, who look set to make teenage Irish midfielder Adam Murphy their first signing of the window according to Bristol Live. A move for the midfielder had previously collapsed in the summer but he has now reportedly agreed terms with the club and could be announced as early as next week.

Irish side St Patrick's Athletic will be due compensation of around £200,000 but that fee could represent a bargain for one of the brightest young talents in his country.

EFL 72 says:Plenty of clubs will be impressed by the Robins' sharpness in the window and on a free transfer, this could prove to be a great deal for a player they had already tried to sign previously.
