Coronation Street's New Year schedule in full with special episode confirmed
Coronation Street will air a special extra episode on New Year's Eve, while the other big soaps will not air.
EastEnders and Emmerdale have ditched New Year's Eve episodes this year, while both will air an episode on New Year's Day. It is a Sunday after all, and the soaps do not tend to air on this day.
Corrie have decided to treat fans to extra content though, with all sorts of drama and fun kicking off just hours before the UK rings in 2024. Christmas was a pretty quiet affair on the cobbles, while there was some drama, bombshells and sad scenes.

Coronation Street will air a special extra episode on New Year's Eve at 8pm. It's shorter than usual at 30 minutes long, instead of a full hour.

That said, Corrie does not normally air on Sundays, and ITV is airing a special episode for New Year's Eve. Neither Emmerdale or EastEnders are doing this.
In the episode, fans can expect to see the residents of Weatherfield gathering together to bring in 2024, while one couple could be set to reunite. That's not all though, as a face from the past makes their big return almost four years on from them leaving the street.
