Love Island star Priya Gopaldas has resumed her studies after appearing on the show in 2021.

The medical student, 25, told her fans last year how she's beginning 'the final push' to become a doctor ahead of beginning her final year of medical school.

Priya - who raised a few eyebrows when she revealed her celebrity crushes before entering the villa - took to Instagram in September to explain how she had 'spent the summer off grid' to focus on things she wanted to do before returning to her studies.

The one-time reality TV star entered the villa on day 42 of the 2021 series of the ITV2 show and lasted a week before getting the boot.

But despite having a short stint on screen, Priya became a memorable islander due to her awkward dates with Brett Staniland and her admission she fancied 'cuddly bear' Boris Johnson.

Priya initially had her eye on Faye Winter's now-boyfriend Teddy Soares, but the student and fashionista Brett were eventually dumped from the villa together after being branded the least compatible couple.

Sharing a snap of herself wearing medical scrubs with her 102,000 Instagram followers in September last year, Priya revealed she had completed the first week at North Middlesex University Hospital amid her final year at medical school.

"As if I’ve made it here," she began when captioning the update.

"7 more months until I’ll be sitting finals and the 7 YEARS of medical school stress will (hopefully) be worth it. The final push until the doctor dream becomes a reality."

She went on to add: "Spending my final year at a new hospital and kicking things off with an intense placement on A+E (wish me luck).

"Haven’t been active on here for a while…. spent my summer off grid, focused on doing all of the things I wanted to do and less of the things I had to do.

"But now it’s back to business. Medical school is going to be tough this year and studying will be my main priority. But also have some very exciting things in the pipeline."

Since appearing on Love Island almost two years ago, Priya has found love with a man who seemingly shares her love of running and physical activities.

The former reality TV star refers to her blond-haired beau as 'B' when sharing snaps on Instagram of herself and her boyfriend enjoying trips abroad and competing in marathons.

Before entering the Spanish villa almost three years ago, Priya baffled fans of the show when she confessed to fancying the then-PM Boris Johnson.

When asked about her celebrity crush in a pre-Love Island interview, se admitted: "This is a very strange answer but Boris Johnson. I have a soft spot for him.”

The medical student added that it was the former prime minister’s "confidence" that she found attractive, stating "he is a total sweetheart on the inside and that’s what I like in a boy".
